When Pete won't lie to us about fake rumors like sportswriters and bloggers we tend to have a great imagination.

Hey anyone here the Kei Igawa,Kyle Fransworth for Eric Bedard trade.

Horne,Marquez,Kennedy and Matsui for Lincecum or Cain. All those pitchers could start for the Giants next year.

How about Matsui, Kennedy, (plus lesser prospect) for Lincecum? Then send Lincecum, Melky, (plus either AJ or Horne) to the Twins for Santana. We clear a little money from Matsui, we keep Hughes, and we keep either AJ or Horne. Most of you say Lincecum is equal to Hughes so he can replace him in the deal. Most of you also say it will take a lot more than Matsui to Lincecum. SO essentially we give up Matsui, Kennedy, Melky, AJ or Horne (plus another prospect) for Santana. I'd do it in a second. Plus, many of us worry about injuries for Lincecum.

E-Roc,

I'd love to have Cain or Lincecum - Lincecum in particular (though I do worry about him getting hurt).

I just don't see how it can happen in any logical world. If Jackson was tearing up the majors as a 1st year player - then perhaps.

But I think it would take that kind of tremendous position player prospect and then more to get Lincecum. Someone like Justin Upton and then another player. I honestly think that's the kind of talent level it would take.

The giants do have some depth in pitching - with an awful minor league system for position players in particulr.

Rios is a very good player - he wasn't enough. The yankees don't have anyone even close to a Rios right now.

"okay hmmm.Want me to spell it out better maybe draw you a picture"

yes, please draw me a picture. i'd love to see the picture that shows me how putting Lincecum or Joba in the bullpen is a good idea.

and i have to say i feel honored to be called a moron by the guy who typed this drop of wisdom less than 2 hours ago:

"If Kei Igawa is the reason the yankees don’t get a for once 200 strikout, two Cy Youngs,29,200 innings pitchers that BS."

i'll just go back to being a moron.

hmmm-

No moron.Just saying that like Sanchez if Lincecum fails or gets injured as a starter, thats when you decide to put him in the pen not just because of his frame.Just like Joba,if he fails he makes a good set-up guy.

"The trade scenarios are not as insane as u might think when u have Brian Sabean as the opposing GM. "

E-Roc,

I hear you and I know its impossible to get the Liriano/ Nathan fleecing out of one's mind....

Nonetheless - I think he's learned from that. Going down as the GM who made one of the worst trades in modern sports history will do that.

Also - not even he can ignore what Lincecum or Cain are.

Plus, he's acutally a decent baseball guy. Did a great job when he worked with Stick while he was with the yankees.

I don't see him taking any chances with Lincecum or cain - especially dealing with his former employer.
