Torre was a nice guy and his charitable efforts are admirable. But the fact is that his in-game managing skills were questionable in the later years. The Yankees made Torre the highest made manager in baseball history and, contrary to your belief, it was Torre who insulted the Yankees by walking away from a generous offer. The fact that you think he will be a significant improvement over Grady Little in a very tough and balanced division is mildly amusing. Come on, Pete.
