Mon, 24 Dec 2007 02:31:17 +0000 http://yankees.lhblogs.com/2007/12/21/baseball-about-to-take-a-break/#comment-233401 ironically, i think pettitte could be clemens biggest problem if clemens had any ped involvement. when i was a little kid, my best friend's parents would pay him a quarter whenever he told the truth. that kid got me in more trouble than anyone since. i soon learned that best friends can cause more trouble than enemies. pettitte and clemens were so close that pettitte would probably know about it if roger used peds or not. i don't think pettitte would cover it up if asked by any official authority. even if clemens just dabbled, pettitte would likely know about it . if pettitte comes out and says roger is clean, i'll believe it. if he says nothing, then i'm gonna be wondering. roger better not be bluffing. it is entirely possible that he's never used steroids. he hasn't had any of the kind of tearing tendon injuries that steroid abusers seem to have. i'm pulling for clemens on this one. and for all you youngsters on the blog who know a lot about stats but not much about playing, it's ageism to say anyone over 40 who performs athletically well must be on peds. it's not necessarily true. ironically, i think pettitte could be clemens biggest problem if clemens had any ped involvement.
