Baseball owners have pushed for the World Baseball "Classic" and other international play. It should be obvious these items must be canceled. Players cannot cope with the long schedule as it is, much less enormously draining travel, different time zones, etc. Post season includes 3 levels, which people mention as draining esp. for pitchers(if the Yankees aren't involved-in that case they get no slack). I notice in the press today, George Mitchell is more important than ever: he has obtained a middle initial "J." Nothing, and I mean nothing, is ever enough for some people.

Is it me or are these "New Rules" standard business practices in most companies? If anything, as public as pro sports are, shouldn't they have a long time ago, implemented measures to ensure undesirable people are not affiliated with their good name? Bad business in my opinion.

All after the horse has left the barn, Selig style. The spineless Commissioner still can't get it right. The only true way is to random test and out of the game for life if first test is positive along with end of contract. Everything else is just a continuation of skating around the issue.

What is that going to do? Not a thing. If they aren't in the clubhouse then they can do this stuff outside.

Its a joke. It just goes to show that Selig and Mitchell should both be out of baseball.

well the new rules kind of back up the mitchell report but at the same time its kind of like saying "yeah these trainers are a slimy bunch" even though the mitchell report is basically based solely on the tesimony of 2 trainers.

I think I'd be pulling for any MLB player in Roger's shoes for no other reason than simply to nullify the ridiculous Selig/Mitchell report.

On another note, is it true that Canseco's next book is coming out tomorrow? Do I need to wear a helmet to work tomorrow to protect myself from the Sox fans?
