Pete Mackanin, by reputation, is a great baseball guy. Compare this to the scouts for the Pittsburgh Pirates, who are by reputation okay with Lego blocks.

I had the pleasure of meeting The Stick last fall at Brooklyn Cyclones Stadium on Coney Island. What a nice, gracious gentleman. He couldn’t have been more friendly.

I was just reading The Zen of Zim, and Zimmer told a story about a strategy session Steinbrenner called back in ’98 to discuss trading for Clemens. Poor Stick tried to voice an opinion, and Steinbrenner pointed at him, “You shut up!” I would not have stayed for the rest of that meeting, that’s for sure.
I was just thinking how easy it was for 80-90% of the public to villify Clemens…
what happens if/when Canseco says ARod used PEDs with virtually no evidence?
Those same 80-90% will be calling for ARods head.

Steve Philips is a “Yankee Hater” and I detest him fully. He is so biased in a negative way. He just said on ESPN that he thinks the Rocket did use “something” to enhance his later years. Maybe Hank will pull off the Santana trade so it can take some attention off Roger.

The only difference is people have been speculating that he took them for years now. Due to his age and success. I dont think Arod situation would be the same.

I still think the public would be ready and willing to attack ARod in the same way as Clemens… with virtually no hard evidence.
Roger was not accused of using roids in his later years. He was accused 10 years ago!!
I was getting tired of hearing MacNamee saying “What do you want me to do?”
Say this for Roger….He is suing,is going to Congress and he like to drink water!!!
I did vote a few weeks ago that I thought he did Steroids.
