Kielty's 2007 was actually worse than Lane's. It's close, but you gotta give the edge to Lane on playing time (/jk).

Despite his complete inability to stay healthy for a full season, Kielty has attracted interest from several teams, and will probably get a guaranteed contract for a couple million bucks from somebody. That's not a lot of money, but it is a roster spot. Lane doesn't need to be put on the 40-man unless he makes the major league club in ST.

Bobby Kielty, remains available, is twice the player as Lane, can play all three OF positions and a little 1B. And bat RH. This is such a perfect fit, there's got to be something else I am missing. Why Lane when there is Kielty?

Mike Cameron is a better hitter than Melky Cabrera, end of story. He's still probably a better feilder as well. So if you can upgrade CF with Cameron until AJax is ready, and upgrade the team's biggest weekness (the bullpen) by trading Melky, you do it in a heartbeat.

You have to be creative if you want the bullpen to be improved.

<i>"For Cameron’s career he is a .251/.341/.445 player and he is 35 years old. He isn’t getting any better. But yes the Yankees should trade Melky and sign him for 2 years @ 10 Mil a year. That would make absolute sense."</i>

Cameron has never made more than $7M in a season, and there is exactly one other team interested in him (the Brewers). It would be more like 2 years at less than $10M total.

Whether they should trade Cabrera has to have at least something to do with what they'd get for him, doesn't it?

As for the earlier comment about Cameron being injury-prone, aside from slamming his face into Carlos Beltran at full speed back in 2005, he's been pretty damned durable.

And I've gotta say I just don't get all the Andy Phillips love -- the guy is basically Jason Lane without the ability to play the outfield. Besides, if Phillips had accepted being outrighted to the minors, he'd still be with the organization. After refusing the Yanks minor league offer, he turned around and signed a minor league contract with Cincinnati. Maybe he thought someone would offer him a guaranteed major league contract, or maybe he just thought he should go to an organization where he might have a better shot at more playing time.

Melky for a middle reliever? That makes me extremely nervous. A 24 year old with a golden arm in CF traded for a middle reliever who could crap the bed at any moment. Then replace that CFer with a 35 year old on a PED suspension while you prepare to hand the job over to a guy with only a couple of at-bats past single-A. That doesn't sound like good thinking to me whatsoever.

Do they give Jason Lane's Durazo's AAA locker as the "washed up veteran passing through?"

mel-

Lol! You have had some good zingers lately. Fantasy baseball is easy, you draft players & based on how well they do (offensive stats) your team accumulates points. Most leagues are 5 X 5 (5 Hitting stats- HRs, RBIs Runs, SBs, Batting Avg. & 5 Pitching stats Wins, Losses, K's WHIP, Saves)it's really a lot of fun, there is trading & FA pickups/drops. Think about it.

Buddy,

No thanks to anything with "Pete Abe", "Fantasy", and "Style" in it. j/k, Pete!

Seriously, I don't even know the object of the game when it comes to fantasy leagues.
