CM Wang got his work permit just now, and will get his visa in a day or two. Should leave for US just before Chinese New Year. Might have a short self training period or skip it all together.

Wang's postseason stats:
2005 ALDS: 6.2 innings, 1 earned run, 6 hits, 0 walks, 1 strikeout
2006 ALDS: 6.2 innings, 3 earned runs, 8 hits, 1 walk, 4 strikeouts
2007 ALDS: 5.2 innings, 12 earned runs, 14 hits, 4 walks, 2 strikeouts

His 2007 was horrible, but his 2005 and 2006 showed that he can do it. So I'll chalk up his 2007 to stuff happens. Robertson on the other hand, went down, up, then not shabby during 2006's postseason. And of course, he didn't even pitch in 2007's postseason. Who's to say how he would've done?

Heck, look at how 2007's AL Cy Young winner, CC Sabathia, did in the post-season...
ALDS: 5 innings, 3 earned runs, 4 hits, 6 walks, 5 strikeouts
ALCS: 10.1 innings, 12 earned runs, 17 hits, 7 walks, 9 strikeouts
Was Sabathia worth the 8.75 million he made in 2007? Some will say yes, some will say no.

Miguel Cabrera "ONLY" got 7 mil in his 1st year of arbitration ...

and Robertson pitched better in the postseason than Wang did.

"Tiger, Cubs, White Sox, Met will give Wang 4 year 44 millions if Wang is their home grown. won’t be surprised if Yankees give Wang 3.5M a year."

you don't really understand the process.

I'm teaching my kids how to pitch. Robertson is a below average pitcher--career ERA+ of 94, WHIP of 1.411. And he gets 7 mil a year. Remarkable.

You don't get $10M in your first year of arbitration unless you're Miguel Cabrera or Alfonso Soriano.

Sounds about right...

Wang blew the postseason... If he didn't, he might get 5 mil

Somehow, Wang still in Taiwan, he didn't get his work permit yet, and after he got it, he need to wait for visa interview, after the interview, he need to wait for a least two more workdays, to get his visa to US, so the earliest, he will go to US, hope before late Jan...

But, it is hard for him to do the same thing this year, which he did last couple year: self training at fisher complex in AZ..... This year maybe go to Tempa directly...
