Steve- Your comment has to be one of the most ignorant, idiotic comments I've ever read. Bravo.

~~~~~~Fans make a $20 donation to charity~~~~~
We all know this “charity” fans are donating to is really just the Red Sox organization. You wonder how they are able to keep up with the Yanks payroll with a significantly smaller stadium, this is exactly how they do it.
I was shocked the first time I learned that the Sox have a larger fan base than the Yankees. Since then I have learned that the Red Sox have been doing more than the Yankees have for a really long time. I think the big fan blitz came with Theo - he met with fans - not only in Boston but also in FL, and other places making arrangements for them to be able to get to games when the Sox were playing in their area. They have a special section of Front Office people - otherwise known as PR people I guess to think up all sorts of ideas. I too have wondered if the Yankees just thought well, we're the Yankees but it bothered me. When I saw the 2003 movie the Sox made with Giuliani going into pat (a crying) Wakefield on the back after the loss I guess I should have known - ok, no politics here. I couldn't watch the follow-up movie in 2004 but the idea that they made these movies (at least the 1st one) all based on lives of their fans and how important each game was to each of them was huge. The guy who started a lot of this stuff is the guy that went out to work with the Dodgers now and we see already that they are doing more.
I really wish there was a broadcast schedule somewhere that showed when any (and all) yankee minor league games would be on.
Other wise, its just ole Milb.com I never know when the games will be on Yes, unless someone tells me.
CB,
As someone pointed out, YES does broadcast minor-league games. They also have begun to feature up-and-coming Yankees in pre-game show; for me, this is more important than a "meet the players" pr thing, but I'm also not into that sort of thing, perhaps other people are, and as pointed out, it may help the PLAYERS as much as amuse the fans, but to what extent I'm not sure.
I am also a regular attendee at Trenton games, and am thrilled to see this year's loaded lineup down there. Ideally, I would prefer a more consistent scouting report on the kids from YES, and I would REALLY like to hear guys like Carlos Rios and Nardi Contreras interviewed on YES for updates on our position players and pitchers on the move. I have to chuckle though, to think of how inconvenient this would be for 'baseball' writers, who would be forced to keep up with these guys themselves, instead of writing lazy columns demanding some ridiculous move (like trading our whole farm system for Santana), without even knowing who the hell the players are that they are so adamant about giving up. What would poor Mike Lupica write about, if baseball coverage actually focused on genuine analysis? Does he know ANYTHING about the Yankees, other than that he dislikes them and is a Mets groupie?
I like the idea of a few more minor league games available on YES. It seems like it would definitely be worth the investment, especially with interest in the prospects running so high.
