All-Star Game will be a very tough ticket

Lots of people have been asking about tickets for the All-Star Game. Here is what I was able to find out:

It’s a MLB event and as such, they take 17,000 tickets. That leaves roughly 38,000 for the Yankees to distribute.

The team has close to 80,000 season-ticket holders, either full or partial plans. Those people will have first access to the All-Star game tickets. Priority will likely go those who have had their season ticket plans the longest.

If any tickets are left, they will go on sale to the general public. The odds of that would appear slim. As more information becomes available, I’ll pass that along.

As for single-game sales for the regular season, we’re still a few weeks away.

Ticket prices on ebay will be ridiculoid!!! But I can’t lie and say I won’t try and cop two of ‘em.

Full, A and B plan holders will get All Star tix. They will be higher up/further out than they are used to. I expect to be behind the flag pole in the LF bleachers.

Who gets the 17,000 tickets that MLB takes? Anyway, thank goodness for technology. I’ll be watching from my HD flat screen tv mounted on my wall and won’t miss a beat. The coverage now in days is such that I won’t miss not going to the All-star game. I will however, purchase regular season tickets. There’s no way I will miss going to Yankee stadium on its last year of existence.

I’ve already given up all hope for the All Star Game. Just praying I can land a few tickets for the final home game of the regular season.

“Who gets the 17,000 tickets that MLB takes?”

i’m guessing cast members for some terrible fox series.

maybe it’s just me, but i’d take good regular season yanks weekend tickets over all-star game tickets (which would most likely be nosebleed/bleachers).

Will be fun to see Terry Francona bring all his merry men to the All-Star Game.

As a Yankee fan, wouldn’t it actually be better to be at the last game at the stadium, or at least the last series, than at a game that has a tenuous connection with the Yankees? Yes, it’s an honor to the stadium, but let everyone else have their one day to honor the stadium, You guys who actually go to the games during the season, you have all year to pay tribute!

Chuck Frantz is getting me tickets. Read my Sommer Frieze. Its a joke.

Ain’t that the truth. Joe Buck, Oh look the entire cast of American Idol. :barf:

I can’t stand that crap and that is probably who will get OUR TICKETS!!

    Pete

any idea when we will find out the ticket policy for the all-star game. I have B, C, D, E plans, which add up to full season. My seats for B, D, E are the same, but for some reason they won’t ask the person who has my seats for the C plan to switch(seats are actually a couple rows better for C plan so it would benefit whoever has them). I’m just hoping I don’t get screwed if B plan doesn’t get access to tickets, and full season does. Because technically I have all 81 games, just not the same seat for all 81.

    Marc,
Why do you have a plan like that and not the full season? Full, A, and B will have the same priority. I have the A plan and I found out from a Yankee representative in December. They just can’t gaurantee same seats.

    Relaunch,

When I got the tickets 5 years ago, they didn’t have any full season left in the RF bleachers. The ticket representative called and said he could give me B, C, D, E plans which adds up to all 81 games and still costs the same. The only difference is I would have different seats on Saturdays, but the same seats for the rest of the games. They said they can’t ask the guy to switch seats and then move me to full season, and have never really given a reason for it. I just hope I don’t get screwed because of it. Hearing that from you does make me feel better about it, though.
