Peter Abraham

Bronson Kiheimahanaomauiakeo Sardinha signed a minor-league deal with Seattle and was invited to spring training. The Yankees had hoped to keep the outfielder but were unable.

Sardinha was 3 for 9 with 6 runs scored in September and was on the playoff roster.

    Pete -

Well, I wish him luck with Seattle. Glad I never memorized that name!

You must be feeling much better. It’s been tough keeping up with all the new posts!

  2. Phil

This must be some sort of record. In the year I’ve been lurking/posting, I can’t remember this many posts in one day.

    Best of luck

I saw Sardinha in Spring Training last year …he hit a walk off homer. That middle name is something else. He better just stick to Bronson K. Sardinha.

Good luck to him …who knows …he might be back …:o)

  5. Ratachewy

I bet pete typed that name without copy and paste.

  6. The Doctor's Companion

I wish him the best but I’m gonna miss him V_V

The Doctor’s Companion: Which doctor? And are you Rose or Martha?

  8. Yankee Fan in Chicago

How should Sardinha’s middle name be pronounced? How his parents (and himself) remember such a long name??

    1) Pete must be feeling better.

    2) This could be the last time he gets to type Kiheimahanaomauiakeo.

    Damn you, Carl Pavano.

Best of luck to you, Bronson. Lots of Hawaii people live in the Pacific Northwest so it’ll feel like home.

  11. Doreen

    Mel,

Are you referring to the roster spot that Mr. Pavano continues to occupy?

  12. Dewey

I enjoyed watching him play, especially that walk off homer vs. Detroit in ST last year. Quite exciting.

He wore #3 for Scranton. I always thought it was weird seeing someone walk to the plate in “Yankee Pinstripes” with that number on.

  13. Rebecca--Optimist Prime--Save the Three Musketeers!

Doreen: You know, I think that roster spot’s gone bad now.

I was thinking the same thing!

    Doreen,

    Yes!

But, Bronson will have a better chance outside of the Yankee system. Thus, another bittersweet ending to a Yankee minor league career.

What the heck’s with the Wang bobblehead? He looks like something out of a 70’s martial arts film.

  19. Dr. Cox

Bad loss. That kids a going to be a beast.

  20. Joe Buck ruins my life with his bad MLB/NFL playoff announcing

    Noooooooooooooooooooooooo! Sardhinhaaaaaaaaaaaaa!

~~ Bad loss. That kids a going to be a beast. ~~

YES! In Hawaii winter league though…

  22. JGNYC

    This is unfortunate.

  23. J-Dawg

Best of luck to Sardines. Hopefully he will adjust well to his new setting.

  24. whozat

    “This is unfortunate.”

Meh. He was Kevin Thompson without the speed.

  25. Where's Raul Mondesi?

Good time to get rid of these F level prospects.

“Meh. He was Kevin Thompson without the speed.”

Yes, but he also Kevin Thompson with the true Yankeeness.

    Rebecca-

You got my reference! You are even cooler than before, which makes you like, uber coolest of the cool! Because I’ve only been exposed to the revival I pick 10, he has his emo moments but he’s 97% happy;More Rose than Martha, I found Martha to be too, what’s the word…annoying.

(Sorry for going off topic everyone)

The Doctor’s Companion: You know Rose is coming back for a few episodes, right?

I’m late to the party tonight, but I just wanted to point out that Pete wrote a post that mentioned ARod today without a single snide or “joking” comment.

    THANKS PETE! :)

  32. The Doctor's Companion

Yes I do! I got an email alert with pics from them, including one with both Rose and Martha…Good grief I’m a geek LOL

  33. Rebecca--Optimist Prime--Save the Three Musketeers!

The Doctor’s Companion: You are so totally my kind of gal. I haven’t caught an episode in ages, but my favorite is still the Shakespeare one.

Though the 1913 one was sweet as well. As was in series two, the one where the doc shags Mdme du Pompadour

  34. The Doctor's Companion

LOL I loved the Shakespeare one-apparently the ladies aren’t the only ones after the Doctor ;) Guh why aren’t we closer to share in the DW love??? ^_^

  35. Bronx Liaison

Roger Clemens hired a new big-time attorney who repped Bill Clinton while he was President facing impeachment. In unrelated news, George W. Bush is still President of the United States:

the only memory i have of Sardinha was the last regular season game of 2007. The Yanks played the Orioles at Camden Yards…great stadium. Anyway, after a few at bats, they (Posada as manager) took starters like Arod out and had Sardinha batting cleanup for a few innings. Yes, not too bad for a rookie. He can now say “I batted cleanup for the New York Yankees while they had the likes of Arod, Abreu, Posada, and Matsui”

    Best of luck

just the mention of pavano and that roster spot in this thread makes me angry :O
