I really liked Betemit last year, he shores up some help with the infield and it gives our bench a boost. Betemit and Molina were two guys I definitely wanted to see back for the 08 campaign.

Having George throw out the first pitch is risky, but I kind of like it!

Tons of critical has been (often rightly) sent his way. But talk about someone who put his money where his mouth is with respect to caring about the fans and giving the NYY the best chance to win…

Duncan & Betemit might make a productive 1B platoon. not sure if that’s what they’re planning; i guess it depends upon whether Duncan can hit righties.

i assume that Giambi won’t play in the field. Unless he’s the DH, he breaks down with almost Pavano-like predictability. So unless they are planning to play Matsui (or Damon) at 1B, I don’t see where Giambi fits.

Glad Betemit signed. Lots of people avoided arbitration by coming to terms today. How are Wang and Cano doing?
