No question, it’s a great wall

Joe Torre was in China last week promoting an exhibition game the Dodgers will play there. He was joined by Dodgers executive Dr. Charles Steinberg, who had been with the Red Sox.

I’m guessing that after this photo was taken, Joe launched into a story about how he and Bob Gibson built a wall once because Lou Brock had this mean dog that kept biting Stan Musial. The Chinese writers on hand kept nodding and the headlines the next day said, “Nice man tells long story about former team.”

As you can see, the blog has a slightly different look. We now adhere to the new look of the LoHud.com web site. Hopefully this means that we’ll make millions and my job will be safe another few years.

Woah, new layout. Not bad Title and stuff is a little messed up, but it might be my browser.

  2. Clay Bellinger

It’s a little messed up for me too…

  3. JBRO

Not my browser, but I’m sure they’ll work it out. Good luck with the new look Pete.

  4. i miss bernie

gotta get out my glasses now!

  5. mike eff

    nice layout!!

  6. YankeeDudel

Torre in China? Me don’t care.

  7. Bronx Liaison

As long as Pete keeps LoHud up with the same intensity any format changes are gravy

  8. JBRO

i miss bernie: The font is smaller but you can make the text bigger in your browser if you want. Go to View>Text Size, to make it bigger.

  9. JMZ

It looks like crap. Hope they get it fixed.

  10. Clay Bellinger

Anyone know anything about Punxsutawney, Penn? I am headed there this weekend to see the groundhog.

  11. Ned Ryerson

Watch out for that first step, it’s a doozy.

“As long as Pete keeps LoHud up with the same intensity any format changes are gravy”

The only things that changed for me are the header and the text size in the disclaimer section at the bottom. huh.

  13. DMan

Oh whew, thought it was just my computer..

  14. Steve

Best headline ever Pete! Thanks for a good laugh early in the day.

  15. B-D-4 trains

Kudos to Peter …. nice layout.

Fans in Minnesota seem to think that Bill Smith hoodwinked them. They didn’t see this coming ?

  16. Paulie

Looks freaking cold in China. Must be global warming.

  17. mel

Why is the man next to Torre wearing Dodger blue?

  18. pat

First a Lasik eye surgery endorsement from Pete and now smaller font type. Is there a kickback involved here?

  19. jennifer- Hip Hip Jorge

They have had major snow and ice storms the last few days in China. It is a mess over there right now. People are trying to get home for the lunar new year and can’t because of the storms.

  20. EY

Wow new layout. Title is messed up though.

  21. mel

    jennifer,

I heard about that. Only because there was shock over the fact that the premier apologized for the travel snafus.

  22. Rebecca--Optimist Prime--Save the Three Musketeers!

Pete, your job better be secure, I’m not sure what I’d do without this blog!

  23. saucy

looks good. i’m not sure why some of you are complaining. font size is adjustable. try holding your “Ctrl” key and use the scroller wheel on your mouse. if that fails, get your ass some reading glasses!

  24. Yanksgal07

I’m at work and the page is almost black ..I have to highlight so I can read it …could be the work browser. I’ll have to check it out when I get home.

    Go Yankees 2008 !!!

  25. Drew

They should rename the wall, the “Chinese Monster” and have Yaz play a ball off of it.

  26. ae@dpu

I was actually in China last week. Beijing a few weeks ago and probably standing at that same spot on the Wall as Mr. Torre. Let me tell you, it was freezing up there!

  27. RosterRooster

The new layout gives me a headache.

The great part about this blog was its simplicity.

Go back to a white background please.

  28. Hockey

The appearance of the blog is all screwed up. No Yankee logo? All the titles of the threads, posts, and website itself are all jumbled.

  29. Yanksgal07

I have the Yankee logo …nothing is jumbled …it’s just the page is DARK …I can’t read unless I highlight the whole thing …seems to be different problems for each individual viewing. Something to do with the individual browsers?

    Go Yankees 2008 !!!

  30. joltin joe

you sure that guy next to Joe isn’t Fernando Valenzuela?

  31. BillyJoBob

The doctor looks like he needs a doctor
