I was down in Tampa for Gasparilla (a big pirate-themed festival/parade) two weekends ago. A friend and I ended up staying Sunday night because the Sunday direct flight was full. So we heard about Blue Martini and went to check it out. Although it was "urban night" we had a great time. Unknown to me it was the same weekend as Jeter's Celebrity Golf Tournament. I met him as he walked in and shook his hand. Very nice. Also got to meet and talk to Ryan Howard, and futue NFL Hall of Famer Bruce Smith. Other famous atheletes that I saw there were Alex Smith and Cadillac Williams of the Bucs, Boxer Antonio Tarver, and I was standing 5 feet away from MICHAEL JORDAN, but didn't make my way to him to shake his hand. But Blue Martini is a very nice bar/lounge

Some very nice looking hotels on this site not too far from Legends field. Click on the map to check distances from the hotels to all the Grapefruit League stadiums.

Since Legends Field tix are pretty hot and harder to get obviously, I got a pair for the yankees visiting the Twins at Hammond Stadium in Fort Myers. Any advice on anything cool to do around there? Especially, what is the best strategy of getting autographs or pics taken? Before the game or after? I'd love to get the trinity in a pic.

Say that if you will, but as Santana proved.. it’s the market that determines the price.

--------------------------------------------------

We don't know for sure what Santana would have gotten, b/c he never reaches FA, so the market didn't really determine his price, he had the Mets by the cajones.

CC won't get as much as him, now that the Mets are strapped besides teh Red Sox & Yankees who will give him that type of deal. Zito going to the Giants was more of a PR move, his deal was a huge mistake.

Blargh: Yeah, it's just that there were a lot of them!

\Then again, I came name all the English monarchs from my head from memory and tell you how the majority of them died, so that let's you know where my interest lies...

You got to read it for class? Sweet deal; wish I had taken such a class (my Chinese history classes had me read excerpts from the Analects and the Dao De Jing instead, meh)
Names weren't bad to me since I am Chinese, so I'm used to it
But it's really not hard once you get into the mindset that family names come before personal names; then it's same as any other set of names.

Rebecca: You should read ROT3K sometime; history + war = win :)
(free transcript of Brewitt-Taylor's translation can be found at http://www.threekingdoms.com/book.aspx )
(well, close enough to history...70-90% historically accurate, depending on who you ask)

I'll hold off on Sabathia for another year...see if he can keep it up in his contract year.
As it is right now, I'm seeing between Zito and Santana money, so about 20 million a year. If he does pretty well this year...well, Santana money wouldn't be out of reach then, wouldn't it.
