I still don't trust Cone after all those sexual harassment / rape accusations.
Masturbating in the bullpen? Really? That's not what I want to have to think about during a game.

They're bringing back Flaherty to catch. You can't full me. The always bring John Flaherty back to catch. You're sitting there, enjoying the game, and the next thing you know, Flaherty is behind the plate.

Damn Yankees.

The Yankees are not the favorites, so I'd imagine they all should be pretty motivated to be in their BEST shape.

There's one thingthat could seriously impact the Yankee's pitching situation that's often overlooked. How will Andy Pettitte be impacted by his congressional testimony? I think legally he will come out fine. But it remains to be seen where his head will be at when it's all said and done. Andy could very well become the most important question mark this Spring. The Yanks can't afford to be without him.

I'll be curious to see what kind of shape Damon comes in this season. Honestly, Abreu, Melky, Giambi and Damon all came in a bit over weight. All of them slimmed down through the season, but could be part of the reason for the terrible start, aside from the pitching woes.

Of course, starting the season with Pavano probably put a curse on the Yankees. ;)

I know there are a lot of people scratching their heads over the Shaq trade. When I heard about it, one thing I thought of was that the Suns were bringing him in to help get more fans in the seats. Even though he is near the end of his career, he is still a draw. People like the guy. He can also fill a more defensive roll, if he is willing to change his game a bit.

Doreen,
I feel like im in the Tom Hanks movie where he is so bored stuck on an island. That he starts talking to a ball and calls him Wilson. NYPD is sort of a Wilson here. Iv never had a problem with him. But i see that he's rubbed people the wrong way.At least its passing time and not talking about Clemens,Santana etc. Cant wait to get going next week. Till then i'll continue to shoot the shh about other stuff. Hope they all come in in goood shape. Especially Damon. My prediction is a better record this year than last.

Lori -

Agree on not having noticed his fielding. He didn't really get much of a chance to play first base, though did he? I know some outfield, and dh, of course.

But I just checked and he played 9 games at 1B, 10 DH, 8 in RF and 4 in LF. Guess he didn't make much of an impression! :)

Doreen,

I think he thrives off of witty repartee without getting personal. Although he does have a mean streak.
