Here’s a video report that Seth Harrison did for LoHud.com on the new Stadium. You can get a sense of the construction.

    Do you smell that???

Yup, it smells like baseball is near…

  2. Matt (In Toronto)

    Very nice! Thanks Pete/Seth!

  3. Matt (In Toronto)

Had a question, whats the difference between friese and facade?

  4. Wolf In Pinstripes

Thanks for everything today, Pete. 8) And mad props to Seth for the photos and video!

Curt Schilling said in his blog that it’s not true that he has a partially torn rotator cuff, though he did admit that one doctor recommended he undergo shoulder surgery.

Great work today Pete, keep it up.

Matt, the frieze (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frieze) is the overhanging white arches that encircle the edge of the top of the stadium. The facade (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Facade) is the design of the outside walls.

Most people call the frieze the facade, but Pete’s got it right.

Curt is hurt? yeah right. I believe it when I personally witness his right arm detaching from his body. Look for him to win 17-20 games this season and be great in the postseason once.

  10. Boston Dave

quantum, check the news. curt is hurt. and name the amount of the bet. i say he wins less than 17.

  11. mel

If Curt’s doctor says surgery and team doctors are saying rehab, rest, and strengthening then he’s got something serious going on their. Even if he does pitch it won’t be anytime soon.

  12. mel

    *there*

    Thar!

  13. Boston Dave

    nice recovery mel :)

  14. Bronx Liaison

Schilling’s doctor says refers to the injured area as holding together with “three strands of spaghetti”

    Quantum of Solace?

Maybe the best LoHud name, ever.

You understimate him. He once pitched with blood on his sock. He knows no fear and needs no arm. I say he wins 80 games.

Does anybody else think the ‘Y’ in Yankee Stadium looks cut off???

  18. Dee

I’m a little worried about the new stadium having too many “extracurricular” activities, with it being 60 some percent larger than the existing one but having fewer actual seats. It’s nice to have food and drink options, but not sure how I feel about my ballpark turning into a mall or to have too many corporate suites. I’m a corporate type myself but don’t like seeing too much of my own kind when I’m in my baseball mood.

Awesome video. I wish we could get an early tour.
