Mel I think it would be IPK, because he's got the least innings restrictions, and because I think he's going to be capable of pitching very well. Didn't he have one game last season where he only gave up a few hits?

Just looked it up. September 13, 7 innings, 1 hit, 4 BB, 7 SOs. Lost the game 2-1, 93 pitches. So, I think he can improve on that. :)

mel,

I don't think any of the Big 3 will have a complete game this year, due to a concerted effort to stay within their innings caps. If it does happen this year I think Hughes is the most likely candidate.

I don't know why I think so, but I think under normal circumstances Kennedy would be allowed to go all 9 innings before Joba or Phil. Unless one of them has a no-hitter going of course.

Maybe it's that he's got the most innings (stamina) built up over their first few years, and innings limits seem to weigh heavily on how much these guys will be used.

No-hitter aside, I think Wang would be allowed (if not asked) to go all 9 before anyone else. But that should be obvious.

Unless someone has a no hitter going, none of the 3 will have a complete game this year. It's going to be all about counting innings in Yankeeland this year.

Yes, Whozat, as I understand it, tendinitis is an inflammation of the tendon, which hurts. It could be caused buy loose cartlidge or something else. When the inflammation goes away, so does the pain. If the inflammation comes back, the pain comes back. But again, I'd defer to a doctor's word rather than mine.

I think human GROWTH hormone does more healing of things like small tears than cortisone does. It probably does more depending on how you use it too. Not really sure. They're both prescription strength stuff.

Complete games have pretty much gone the way of the dinosaur. Since 2004, even Santana has only had 6 of them. With the Yankees, Wang is most likely to have one with an economical game.
