Meanwhile, one-time LoHud Yankees Blog pinch hitter the Yankees Chick has landed a side gig with AOL’s Fanhouse.
Gosh, we love it when the kids develop into big-time bloggers.
Finally, check out the new-and-improved blogroll over to the right. We added a few new Yankee fans blogs, deleted a few that expired and added a category for the excellent minor-league team blogs by Chad Jennings and Mike Ashmore. Be sure to check those out for news on the SWB Yanks and the Trenton Thunder.

So it’s just the coaches that went to LA then?
Not to be a jerk, but why does a nice young lady who hasn’t lived one day in NY get to be called Yankee Chick? I mean she’s a great writer, but I don’t think she’s earned that name. Am I wrong?
I would not be shocked if Kevin Thompson turns out to be a dependable 3rd / 4th OF in the majors with his speed and decent bat after getting some playing time in the majors.
Bronson Sardinha?? Wasnt he extremely highly regarded?? What did we get for him?
Names are funny.
I would have been named Rachel, but my cousin was born first.
Rebecca, Scott Procter?
Wha’? We lost Kevin Thompson? Will miss Bronson for obvious reasons. Good to see most of the guys hook on to clubs.
Noticed the new blogroll. Looks like the freaking yellow pages, Pete! Good job. I wonder if any of the other baby bombers will start their own blogs. Thanks, also, for linking to your fellow beat writers. You know, in case, we want the wrong scoops.
I prefer the Army of Yankee Bloggers to the Yellow Pages, but suit yourself
Hey Pete-
Have you considered linking to CMW’s blog, its pretty good?
They are almost all NL teams. Weird. I will miss Douggie Mancaveitch.
Jeff:
I did live in NYC for a spell
However, I was the Yankees Chick before that. I grew up watching the Yanks with my dad, so I guess I originally was a fan by default, and then as I got older and started to really understand the game my fan-dom picked up – a lot, obviously!
And by “fan-dom”, I really mean… obsession.
Kallard–Love your site.
Wow, it’s a veritable smorgasbord of Yankees facts, figures, news and opinions. And all free, too. America’s a great country. I’m glad my father caught the boat.
“Bronson Sardinha?? Wasnt he extremely highly regarded?? What did we get for him?”
He was a first round draft pick in 2001, but he never panned out. He was no longer highly regarded at all. He never really played D well anywhere, and his bat didn’t really rise to the higher level competition…and he isn’t fast enough to be a Chone Figgins type.
Rebecca,
Yes, you could call it an army. Though, I don’t think the guys would appreciate being outranked by a female blogger.
Is anyone on here computer literate? I need to know if I need to start playing taps for my computer, or dig out my warranty. I got an error message ntfs volume is dirty. I just want a short answer, unlike most of the stuff I’ve found on the net so far.
Good riddance. Imagine, many of these were once top propects.
Dr. Cox: Like whozat said, Bronson just never seemed to get it together. It looked like he was on his way after 2006 (which prompted the Yanks to add him to the 40-man roster to protect him from the Rule 5 draft) and during Spring Training 2007, but he completely fell apart to a tune of a .220 average in AAA. At that point, he was just taking up space that was needed to protect guys like Francisco Cervelli and Steve White from the Rule 5.
Many people cited that he was “fast”, but the Yanks have MUCH faster outfielders in Justin Christian and Brett Gardner. When it comes down to it, Bronson just wasn’t very good in any specific area. Let’s keep in mind that, while he was rated highly in the past, the Yankees farm is MUCH stronger than it was earlier in the decade.
Correction: Bronson wasn’t very good in a specific area. Meaning he was an all-around good, but not great, baseball player.
mel: pfft, men.
Did Nieves catch Clippard? (Both wound up with the Nationals.)
Ok Yankees Chick, you can keep the name. You were a smart cookie to create an online identity like that, guess I’m just jealous. Keep up the good work.
So the Nationals trade their catcher to the Mets for like nothing. Then they pick up LoDuca on the market. Then LoDuca has surgery. So they kinda sorta need Wil, huh? Oops. Just checked. The depth chart goes 5 deep. No Wil.
Clippard is #7 in the rotation.
John Rocker clarifies his remarks from yesterday:
http://www.dallasnews.com/shar.....5af25.html
“So the Nationals trade their catcher to the Mets for like nothing”
Milledge is still pretty highly regarded, no? They packaged Church with Schneider and got him in return…that’s not nothing.
“Clippard is #7 in the rotation.”
Behind Tim Redding?? Ouch.
With friends like this…
Canseco says McNamee lying; Clemens never used Steroids in his presence.
http://www.sportsline.com/mlb/story/10637096
canseco doesnt want mcnamees book to outsell his
Now Rep. Davis says he was misquoted about Pettitte corroborating McNamee.
http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/.....id=3242017
jennifer if i were you i’d make sure that all my data is FULLY backed up.
( and then move to a Mac )
my ultra lame attempt to humorize the Clemens/McNamee situation
Davis may have said he was misquoted, but Lynch essentially said the same thing anyway:
http://sportsillustrated.cnn.c.....index.html
When the day started Roger was definitely behind. As the day progressed, however, he seems to be slightly ahead going into tomorrow’s match.
When asked to state his name for the record, Roger should say simply: “Gladiator.”
Obviously, our esteemed representatives have not spent any time reading the Mitchell report, or had anyone on their staffs read it. How could any thinking person find credibility in it, as Rep. Davis claims in the ESPN piece that murhpydog references? Coupled with that tower of virtue, Jose Canseco, swearing in an affadavit that Clemens was not even at the famous barbecue as McNamee alleges (or is it “lies”?), how can any thinking person believe any of this garbage? I’m not saying that Clemens did not use PEDs, just that basing one’s conclusions on anything that’s been presented so far is grossly unfair, and wrong.
Ok, enough of my soapbox.
There’s a better where are they now segment on SWB Yankees.
http://emedia.thetimes-tribune.....fault.aspx
Heyy guys, I have some Yankee tickets for spring training that i can’t go to and want to sell them, do you have any suggestions?? Do u think they will sell on stubhub??
MikeEff
So your saying my system is as good as dead? I ran another scan and am running system defrag.
I don’t want to spend 1800 now.
If I still have a warranty shouldn’t it be covered? Or is this one of the million things that the warranty doens’t cover.
Say it ain’t so:
What does it say about Lynch that he has already made up his mind before hearing and seeing the witnesses tomorrow and conferring with his fellow committee members? What necessity was there for him to shoot off his mouth tonight other than to use this unfortunate circumstance to draw attention to himself?
IMO Lynch should be removed from the committee for purposes of the hearing and any deliberations since he refuses to keep an open mind. By the way, did you notice that Lynch is from Massachusetts?
Ashley – you should have no trouble selling those tix. I might start with Craigslist…
Jennifer,
Try using the disk cleanup utility if you haven’t already. It’s right under disk defrag. If your computer still loads all your programs correctly I doubt you have to be a new one as of yet.
Try this as well.

How is it that Clippard ended up with the Nats, I missed that?
“How is it that Clippard ended up with the Nats, I missed that?”
That was the trade for Albaladejo.
Aren’t you the guy who’s been lambasting Cash for weeks? And you don’t even know what moves he made? Awesome.
raymagnetic
I have windows xp, but I’ll try running clean up as well. Thanks.
Jennifer
Go to stsrt> run, then type cmd. Make sure you are in the c drive and type chkdsk /r
This will check all your files and repair them on the hard drive if it can.
This may take a while, mabe an hour. It’s all I got for you right now.
Ashley,
Concur with Yankees chick re Craigs List. It is local so it is easy to do a deal. But beware as there are many scammers out there. Recommend a cash deal only.
jennifer
I forgot to say you have to reboot to run the program after you do as I said in the last post.

Ok Yankees Chick, you can keep the name. You were a smart cookie to create an online identity like that, guess I’m just jealous. Keep up the good work.
So Jeff, just so I understand, YOU wanted to be Yankees Chick and she got it first?

How is it that Clippard ended up with the Nats, I missed that?
************************************************************Uh … it’s called staying informed.
The system ran that once and rebooted, and I just ran it again. (but didn’t reboot)
murphydog: I agree, but I basically said the same thing about the guys who were getting autographs and pictures taken with Clemens and I seem to be the only one here who thinks they should be removed as well.
try chkdsk(space)/r or space/f
Jennifer. You could get a new dell for 400 or so. check out http://bensbargains.net/
Whozat – That was a different Chris who’s been “lambasting Cash for weeks.” I appreciate the answer, that’s what I was looking for, thanks!
Kelli – You wasted both our time with that, it must feel great to be that superior, huh?
Okay, thank you soo much for your help Yankees Chick and YanksRule57.
I thought Villone got a 1-year-contract with the Yanks?
ok Pete,
really dont lose all credibility by putting a link on your page to the “respect Jeter’s gangster” blog…. really for some clown it might be funny but for me it is pure ignorance and is similar to the “respect Bond’s honesty” blog.
Thanks Rebecca. Your site is not to shabby as well. I head over there after Pete’s blog. It is just so I have something personal to look at while I am at work.
Bo
Congrats to the Yankees Chick, but, umm…, Pete Abe? You need to get out and explore the blogosphere, my man. The Fanhouse ain’t exactly the Times and you can get a “gig” over there as long as you can spell and keep a regular posting schedule.
you forgot Scott Proctor, I’ll bet Mike Myers & Proctor are thrilled to see Dr. Arm Death AKA Joe Torre in LA.
