Pete, I’m on my cell and I can’t get audio. Could someone please type it up.

Good job by Girardi. He sounds like he’s really looking forward to starting spring training as I think we all are.

Mr. Joe G. better be prepared for the beat reporters to question everything and anything. This is just the start.

The Beat reporters didnt beat Joe up as bad as I would have expected. I would have thought they would have tried to get away with all sorts of questions with the new skipper.

Some of the questions were…well, not as good as they could have been. Joe did a great job with what he got, though.

I think Joe handled that very well, he said all the right things, and knew when to say certain things. That is key. From my view, he seemed to be extra friendly, maybe trying to win over the media now and get a good relationship going wit them right off the bat. Good press conference of sorts from Joe. He seems like he’s got everything in control and the media won’t be an issue with him. Promising to see from Joe. So far, so good in my book.

Joe did very well, seems to be able to deflect much like Mr. T. He will be fine with these media clowns !

Joe was very available to the media, answering every question put forth and not dodging any or deflecting any. In my opinion, he was TOO available to the media. Ok, you want to get off to a good start, fine. But if you just let people corner you into giving your specific opinion on any number of things, he’s going to get clobbered pretty hard at some point. Torre was loved the media, but he hardly said anything you didn’t already know. He could work a room and make you forget what the question was, real smooth, real charming. People who do these sorts of things know that the golden rule is you don’t answer the questions asked of you, but the question you wish you were asked.

Joe Girardi is well prepared for NYC media. He’s well acquainted with many from his playing and bench coach year under Torre.

Joe Giradi knows the media in New York, lest we forget, he was a member of it for one year.

Good job by both Giradi and Pete for giving us the chancge to hear this. As I was watching the USF beatdown of the Orange, I saw a few times that on Friday LIVE! on SNY the Willie News confrence. Why didn’t YES do that for Joe G? I also saw as I flipped through the sports channels on DTV, a couple teams already have spring training shows. Instead of re-runs of othe shows YES should be doing stuff like that. Due to where I live in NC, Yankees Magazine gets blacked out so I can’t see anything. (Though I’m told I’m not missing much). Anyways another ball drop by YES for not covering this press confrence.
