if Wang keeps pitching well, he may make double ($8M) next season. He has plenty of incentive, aside from winning games, to do well. He’ll be just fine.

not to mention DJ was playing hurt last season (at least it seemed). If he is 100%, its reason to be optimistic.

Also, whats up with JB Cox. I was really looking forward to seeing him in the Bronx but it seems he is now buried (in terms of hype) behind guys like Melancon. I though JB was viewed as one of the most likely to be an excellent big league reliver?

The Yankees out to go into the playoffs this year with the pitching staff of last year’s Kansas City Royals. Not a one of them had a bad post season last year.

Man, for $4mil, I think it’s hard to find a better deal anywhere in baseball. You can count on the fingers of one hand how many pitchers have more wins than CMW the last 2 years.

Let’s put it this way, if Phil Hughes and/or Ian Kennedy wins 38 games over the next 2 years, we’ll all be very happy.

As far as last year’s postseason goes, yes, CMW stunk. But let’s not forget his playoff games in ’05 and ’06. In ’05 against the Angels he went 6 2/3 and gave up 1 run.In ’06 he went 6 2/3 ,gave up 3 runs and got the win.

Let’s not panic here. This kid is a darn good pitcher. It just seemed like he tried to throw too hard at the end of last year.

- not a perfect analogy but should be close
- following this logic, Wang should be blamed more than Jetter does if blaming is needed
- maybe blaming is just for giggle but not helpful
