Welcome to Day 2
-
- February
- 16
It’s 70 degrees here in Florida, headed for 79 and the Yankees are on the field. At the moment they’re in a big circle in right field stretching.
Phil Hughes and Mariano Rivera will be among those throwing in the bullpen. There will be the usual fielding drills for pitchers and some batting practice for the catchers.
Back later (post lunch) with a report.

It’s sunny and a balmy 26 degrees here in NE PA with a glistening cover of about 4 inches of crusty snow. Not quite the same as you Pete. Enjoy!
79….Thats nice…rub it in a little. It’s gonna be at least 25 here today.
please post pictures!!!
So, how long does practice last today the same as yesterday. I just wanted to ask because its the weekend!
Please tell me no Uconn Players were out drinking beers with you last night, they have a game at 12…But seriously how from Uconn did you go out with, writer?
“It’s sunny and a balmy 26 degrees here in NE PA ”
Here in VT, it was -3 degrees when I got up this morning.
I think it might be about 10 by now.
Here in Virginia Beach the high’s will be in the mid 60s.
Here in NYC it is 30 degrees but hte good news is that it will be going all the way up to 33 this afaternoon.
Rebecca,
You better have the TV on! Syracuse is up 30-12 on Georgetown with 6 min to go in the first half.
Wake up!

Apologized for “mistakes in judgement”.
That’s all it takes, guys.
Pete, why did you ban me? You only like sycophants, is that it? I guess people that disagree with you aren’t allowed around here. And before you suggest I said something vulgar or out of line, that’s nonsense. Apparently wondering aloud about your outsize hate for Carl Pavano is a criminal offense.
I agree with Jay
Greg Zaun says the Mitchell Report was wrong about him and he never used PEDs.
Convenient(and smart) of him to wait until after the hearings were over to speak out. Cynics will say he’s lying. Conspiracy theorists will say the Mitchell Report is taking a shot at another player on a team in the AL East.
David Justice was also in the report & denied the allegations vehemently as well.
Trish,
Read the Times article.
Hank defends the Yankees WS run by saying that all the teams were using. He states quite frankly that Boston, everyone had the same number of guys using. They were just better.
“Pete, why did you ban me?”
There’s no crying in baseball…or blogging.
Try therapy.
Buddy,
The basketball gods are frowning on my team!
mel,
if you have it, could you post the link to the article?
hey Whozat- I think that’s about right. My car temperature read 10degrees about an hour ago!
If you don’t like him, stop reading. But the rest of us like his blog. So shut it.
Hey everyone -
PECOTA’s projected standings are out and the Yankees are predicted to have 96 wins and finish in first place!!!!
Read more about it here:

Jay - I can’t say I disagree that is seems Pete is kind of petty from a personal standpoint.
However, as a Yankee blogger, he is the king of the hill, so you kind of have to respect him for that.
You have to take personal feelings out of the equation and utilize Pete for the great Yankee resource that he is.
Buddy,
Even though you didn’t empathize with me, here’s the link:

Sorry for the three posts in a row!
also, the Yankees Spring Training TV schedule is finally up. There are 14 televised games in the Spring, none of them at night, so us working folk will have to catch the replays on YES.
Check out the entire schedule here:

Ross- do you know many of the games will be on radio? I just renewed my MLB audio for the season and they promise some ST games.
Lori - unfortunately, I can’t find that information. I’ll report back if I find anything.
Ross,
LOL
i agree with PECOTA’s assessment that the yankees will be the best in the AL this season. they were the best for the last 4months last season and only have to replace clemmens and phillips as major contributors. i actually predicted 100 wins.
I just looked too, I can’t find the radio schedule. I can’t believe they won’t televise the Yanks/Marlins game.

– Thankfully he didn’t misremember anything.
Still waitin to meet you Boston Dave. How ’bout I tell you where I’m actually from. I’d hate to think you believed me the first two times. LOL!
