A few comments about comments
Now that spring training has started, there will be a lot more comments on the blog. Just a few reminders:
* Please do not cut and paste a quote or a passage from a story from another newspaper or web site without attributing it. Provide a link if possible.
* This blog is part of my newspaper. You can’t use obscene words or parts of obscene words or obscene words with dashes in them. Either figure out what you have to say without using such words or find another place to comment.
* Please ignore the trolls. They will go away. Feeding the trolls only encourages them.

A few people have asked me to take photos of players so they can see what they look like. First off, I’m not a photographer. I have a camera on my cell phone that I use once in a while, mostly for fun.
MLB rules also prohibit cameras from clubhouses. If you want photos of what they’re doing on the field, sites like Yahoo! Sports have all you could hope to see.
Beyond that, I’m open to suggestions because this is your blog as much as it is mine. Feel free to e-mail me with your ideas.
I’m working on setting up a few Q&A posts this spring. Details on the first one will be coming soon.
Thanks for reading.

This will be my third year with you Pete…Go Yanks!!!
PS It is snowing here AGAIN! Do ya miss upstate (watertown)???
Someone is a little cranky…
Picture of Brian Bruney…he lost a lot of weight.
http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/ph.....ov=reuters
Let me sit in the press box with you so I can blog from the game
Cranky?, everything he said is completely reasonable.
I started following your blog after we were eliminated from the playoffs last year. This will be my first seasoning following it, and I can not wait.
JBRO…
NO FEEDING!
Believe me, if you don’t sit in the press box, the owner’s box or the locker room, this is the place to be before, during and after the season.
Why does Pete always write with such a chip on his shoulder?
“First off, I’m not a photographer.” That didnt need to be said. He could have just nicely told people that he wasnt allowed by MLB rules and that would have been enough but he had to be arrogant about it. I guess he still hasnt gotten over the Pats less than perfect season.
Why must people complain about everything?
Steve:
I’m getting 4 to 5 e-mails a day asking me to take pictures. I don’t know what else to tell people. I don’t carry around a camera.
Meanwhile, very amusing that you accuse me of having a chip on my shoulder. Somebody whose name is Steve (Cashman sucks).
Cashman sucks. What are you, 10?
Nice to join you for another season of Yankee Baseball, Peter!
Wow! Bruney looks like a totally different person! I suspect that both he and Farnsworth had some artificial “help” with their strength over the past few years. Hopefully, it will not affect their performances this season.
The lingering question: Who will be the late inning lefty?
Can that really be Bruney? What happned to the other half of him?
Hard to believe that’s Bruney! I thought it was Mike Meyers when I first saw the pic!
NY: is that really Brian Bruney?
Sorry Pete, but I was trying to be polite. I could use harsher language but I am following your rules.
I need to see that guy’s arm to know if it’s really Bruney. Only the tattoo will reveal his true identity. It’s the big bushy hair + ridiculous weight loss that got me.
Farnsworth’s hair is kind of funny too. It’s all curly!
Bruney looks like he lost 30 pounds! Wow.
Something interesting to consider. Last year I lost 25 pounds and got down to a good weight for me. My golf swing speed up and I added ten yards to my irons. It will be interesting to see if the weight loss adds to Bruney’s fastball or takes away.
Just want to take a second and thank Pete for all he does. Clearly he puts in the hours to have what many would consider a dream job and is diligent and professional in his reporting. Thanks for all you do Pete and here’s to a great year.
That said, I disagree on the Matsui trade suggestion. Too much international appeal and clutch hitting. His health should be less of an issue with the increased rest and I don’t think you get alot for a aging left fielder (didn’t SF just unload one of those?).
What??! That’s not Bruney! So I guess no more Brian was busy eating pizza when Joe called him from the BP joke anymore.
Hey Pete, thanks again for this blog.
Following up on my comment on the last pos…..Just got confirmation from Will Carroll in an email. HGH was not a controlled substance when Pettitte took it. Also, there is some question that it was covered under the normal prescription drug laws until 2005. Therefore, it is very debatable that Pettitte taking HGH broke the rules in any way. That definitely puts a different spin on the situation, doesn’t it??
Hi Pete, Will you be doing any podcasting? Maybe a live interview? Thanks again….great stuff as always
Peter, I just wanted to say ‘Thanks’ for all the work you do on ths blog and all the information you pass along. I remember not that long ago when spring training seemed like it took place on another planet because of the lack of news reported from camps. Now, thanks to you, we have multiple updates a day. Enjoy the warm weather. -BP in NY
Folks,
That’s not Brian Bruney. Look closer at the caption. It’s Brian Burney. That explains it!
It looks like Bruney went on Biggest Loser!
For we must not forget that what is passed on by the parent to the child is not just this or that peculiarity, a hooked nose, short fingers, a tendency to rheumatism, haemophilia, dichromasy, etc. ,
