Not really had time to listen yet but my two comments of the morning are:

Whooo hoo got last day at Yankees Stadium regular season tickets via the pre sale.

Joel Sherman’s column today in the Post I thought was excellent even though I really dont like him thought it said a lot about what type of guy Andy Pettite really is that he apologized to him on a one on one basis

  2. jennifer- Hip Hip Jorge

The presale started? Which plan do you have?

  3. Neil

So Alex wants his daughter to marry Andy Pettitte eh? ;)

I thought Alex came over extremely well - he has done a 180 in terms of how he has dealt with the media since 2005 - he really has.

Alex real lose and comfortable is a scary proposition for AL pitchers….loved to hear that Andy was out early working with Hughes and Joba as well this morning, lastly I got my tickets as well this morning! Tier 32 Row U…obstructed view, but hey I’m there!

  5. Brandon (Proud supporter of "Alex being Alex")

    the art of misdirection

    Thanks Alex :D

Alex sounded smart, thoughtful, confident and forthcoming. Kudos, he’s come a long way in interviews and I hope we’ve seen the last of “headcase Alex” on the field too.

Jennifer, the presale started yesterday for the B plan (existing accounts, not new business). Today is D to I. I have two plans myself, very excited about going to the game this year especially with Joe G on the helm and the kids on the mound.

Neil - I gotta agree with you 100%. I used to cringe a bit whenever ARod talked to the media, but he is a different guy now. His statements are still somewhat measured, but he is a lot looser and his answers are shorter and not defensive.

I think the fact that he has this 10 year contract, ties it all together for him. He knows exactly what is in front of him and he is setting his goals. His family is secure, basically forever, and they can sets roots in the NY community.

I also think there will be a lot less bashing in the media.
Hopefully, like with Mantle, as time passes and records fall, he will be our hero instead of our fall guy.

Jennifer I have the D Plan (Sat games) pre sale for that started today for last game. Also to clarify my earlier post it is Joel Sherman that I am not a fan of. I Like Andy Pettite after reading what I wrote it may have been mistaken that I dont like Andy which is NOT the case

    Pete.
Could you make the audio avalible to cell phones?
I cant hear it on my cell phone

  10. Ed

Pete was that Joe Girardi who was saying “alex I need you inside its the first meeting” at the end of the tape?

  11. Jason O.

This is the Alex we need…relaxed, confident, a hint of arrogance. Excellent.

  12. SJ44

    Ed,

No, it was Jason Zillo, the Yankees Director of PR.

I said it last year at this time and I’ll say it again. He’s gonna have another monster season.

He’s in better shape than last year and his mind is much freer. As tough as it is, it wouldn’t shock me to see him come close to 2007’s numbers.

you know, i really kinda was startin to get worried with all of these former players calling Alex out, but now i hear him talking like those players are being rediculous, im alot more relieved

  14. Tarheel

Alex is going to mash this season. I wouldn’t be surprised with another 50+ HR season. I also think that he isn’t worried at all about the PED issue….Canseco and the rest are not going to get in his head.
