I used to cringe a bit whenever ARod talked to the media, but he is a different guy now. His statements are still somewhat measured, but he is a lot looser and his answers are shorter and not defensive. I think the fact that he has this 10 year contract, ties it all together for him. He knows exactly what is in front of him and he is setting his goals. His family is secure, basically forever, and they can sets roots in the NY community. I also think there will be a lot less bashing in the media. Hopefully, like with Mantle, as time passes and records fall, he will be our hero instead of our fall guy.
