Because he is NOT a prototypical masher, he strikes out a fair amount and he doesn't have a great batting eye, I always thought he was overrated. But while he is far from the most dangerous hitter around, he is indeed, a great all around ballplayer. Last year I paid special attention to his baserunning, which was just outstanding. His ability to read to ball off the bat and get great jumps off a base is outstanding. His judgement on the basepaths is really great. And now we are getting to see how he takes care of his body. Because of this, he should be productive for much of his contract. If he doesn't get injured, we will see all kinds of records fall. I hope the fans can appreciate him while he is still in his prime years. He is a monument waiting to happen. The more I see ARod, the more I like him.
