Alex Rodriguez says he has unfinished business with the Yankees.

It’s just “Joe” for Derek Jeter as the captain adjusts to a new manager. This notebook also has word on Andy Pettitte throwing in the bullpen for the first time, Robinson Cano vowing to stay hungry and Austin Jackson tweaking his back.

If you want a chuckle, check this out from The Onion. Take that, Moose!

lol good job pete. I knew you had it in you!

  2. Don Vito

Oh and for the record, while I don’t agree with Pete on many items, his blog is far better than ANY Yankees blog out there…

  3. whozat

    God, I love that website.

  4. EricVA

Way to go Pete! Did the shot clear the center field wall?

That was a great article. “Giambi usually doesn’t do well against the media”

  5. eric

The Onion rules. I wonder how Randy Johnson would fare against the NY media.

  6. youngtimer

The Onion should have said something about Verducci using spitballs against Alex.

  7. Bronx Born

    Pete’s blog rules!

  8. jmo

Pabe with the dinger to win it! way to go dog!

  9. FredZeppelin

Sheffield knocking out the Sports Guys teeth, fine. Giambi fairing poorly against the media, fine. Pete taking Moose deep, fine. Mad Dog wreaking havoc on the basepaths….[pause]...fine.

    Pavano pitching a perfect game…bwaaaahahahahahahahahahaha!

  10. Yazman

Hilarious, Peter. Thanks for the link. I hear that certain Yankees who would know are questioning your sudden performance boost.

The Onion is great though. “The New York Mets were scheduled to play an exhibition game against the New York media Wednesday, but the media did not show up.” LOL

  11. YankeeDiva

Thanks Pete! The article was very refreshing and fun to read. :)

  12. Jeff NJ

Holy crap, those people at the onion have been paying attention. Sweet call out for you Peter giving you a walk off hr, too funny.

    Morning all…

Wow, that Onion piece is so good I printed off (on a company printer) and its hanging on the wall in my office. Nice walk off dinger versus Moose, Pete!

The Pavano perfect game and Sheffield beating Simmons and Ryans’ butts was priceless.

The Onion is great. My favorite piece from last year was…

“Maid claims second bed in Clemens/Pettitte hotel room left unused”

What a piece that was. I’ll see if I can dig up the link…

  14. B.Stanley

Great article Peter. The Onion really knows their stuff, putting you in there like that, and hitting a home run too! Then again, this is the greatest blog in history.

  15. Camaroon15

Pete, was it a knuckle-duece or a flat slider? I knew Moose had lost a little on both.

  16. FredZeppelin

I really like the end about the media not showing up for the Mets.

That Onion article is so great. I wonder if Moose has seen it yet ;)

  19. saucY

FredZepplin, great SuDoku site! (cool name too!)

  20. Kevin P

You know this has to be a fake when they try and pull the wool over your eyes about Pavano throwing a perfect game.

    Everything else I belief 100% though :-)

  21. OldYanksFan

“In light of the two sides’ contentious past, umpires have called a pre-emptive warning against the Yankees, as Jim Rome has been beaned in the head with a 90 mph fastball eight times in recent matchups—including twice while in the on-deck circle”

  22. cc

funny, and I like the mention of Pete, but the fictional player quotes needed to have more “obviously”s. In reality, players say “obviously” every other sentence, Girardi 3 sentences out of 4.

  23. Whitey Fraud

Those Onion guys think they’re pretty funny… and they are.

  24. rbj

I really like the part about beaning Jim Rome. Maybe they can get Colin Cowherd to be the mascot & stand behind homeplate.

  25. Parrot Guy

They forgot Knoblock beaning Keth Overman’s mother.

  26. JoeT YANKEES

I knew you had it in you Pete!!

  27. Carp

Pete, did you have to pee in a cup after the game?
    You’re the best, buddy.
