The Yankees will most likely face Toronto ace Roy Halladay on 3/31, 5 years to the date when Jeter got hurt and was out for the first 6 weeks or so of the season in Toronto.

Don’t count out the Jays just yet. They won’t roll over for us, heck even Baltimore doesn’t just roll over for us. Vernon Wells is back and ready to mash. They also picked up Scott Rolen & David Ecktein in the offseason.

To say that Wang is not a number 1 pitcher doesn’t mean that he’s getting “no respect.” Wang deserves a lot of respect. Still, he’s not a number 1 pitcher. Everybody knows that.

Sadly, Wang is not a number 1 starter. Yanks’ rotation just isn’t very good.

I think using the adjective “surreal” to describe the pitching situation on opening day last year is not an abuse. I tried to convince myself that this was a sign that Pavano would have the big season for which he’s been paid, but I couldn’t.

This is a different team than opened the season last year. If — God forbid — something were to happen to CMW, Joe could always throw Joba at the unsuspecting and hapless Jays.

I’ve always liked Karstens and hope he can put something together. He’ll be needed with the various innings limits on the “kids.”
