Phil Hughes will answer your questions

ph_461833.jpgHe’s still a Yankee, he looks great so far in camp and now Phil Hughes will answer your questions right here on the blog.

Starting now and finishing up tomorrow at 6 p.m., you can e-mail me with a question to ask Hughes in an interview that will take place later this week.

Or you can send your question to the Franchise over at his blog. Phil and I will select the best questions, about 15 of them, and post the answers on our respective blogs at the same time. How cool is that? We could break the interweb.

We tried this last season with Derek Jeter, Jason Giambi and Mariano Rivera and the results were great. With Phil having his own blog, he seemed like the best choice to kick off the 2008 reader Q&A series.

This will be a web-only feature. No trees will be killed to bring you these answers. I’ll also post the audio of the interview.

There are rules: Only one question per reader. Please include your first name and where you are from in case we use your question. You get one shot, so make it a good question.

UPDATE: Read the post. E-mail in your questions, do not post them as comments.

    Why the number switch?

  2. ct_chris

Given your enthusiasm for computers and Xbox, do you incorporate any technology in your baseball preparation?

    -Chris

Sent my question in. Not that great of a question, but hey, I tried.

    Hi Phil,

What did you learn last season that will help you this season?

  5. Jake

What are some of the most helpful things that you’ve learned from the veterans?

    -Jake from NY

If you had gone to college instead of signing with the Yankees out of High School, how do you think you would’ve developed diffrently as a pitcher? Would you have used the same repertiore of pitches as the Yankees have you using or would you have stuck with what got you success in High School?

  8. dimagg5

oops. Sorry Pete- I’ll e-mail that!

  9. dimagg5

Pete I know that no trees will be killed to bring us answers but what about the cable wires?

  14. Sean Serritella - YankeesDaily

    Forget that Pete, bad joke.

  15. Sean Serritella - YankeesDaily

Forget that Pete. That wasn’t a good joke. It was kind of goofy. I hope I don’t post this twice.

Will the slider be returning in ‘08?

  17. steve

This is Steve from Wellington Florida. It seems as if your velocity on your fastball and the snap on your curveball against the Rangers last year were the best they had ever been. Then you came back and did not look the same. Were you pitching hurt?, and are you feeling as well and healthy now as you were against Texas, with the same curveball snap and fastball velocity.

    thanks

    Q for Phil:

I bet you’re not afraid of tiny flying insects. Am I right?
