It's amazing what a contract year will do to a player,Now if Pavanno would do the same so the Yankees could trade him for what they could get.

Wow, Giambi went the other way with the ball? That would be great if he could hit the ball the other way but he should do it when the shift is on this way it's an automatic base hit.

"I bet if Cher or Liza Minelli passed away, it would throw him off his routine for a whole year! heh."

Very nice, BBB. LOL

Also, IIRC, wasn't part of the reason Moose didn't want to go to Japan because he had had a recent death in his family (I think either his father or FIL had passed away?) that had put him a bit behind in his usual spring preparation, and he thought the transcontinental Opening Day would be detrimental to his staying on track, etc.? Very cute of Theo to make flippant comments about an issue involving a death in a player's family. And he's a fine one to talk, I bet if Cher or Liza Minelli passed away, it would throw him off his routine for a whole year! heh.

SoS, it wouldn't surprise me if that was indeed his ulterior motive. They do stuff like that all the time, whine about the Yankees to deflect attention of questions or issues that might make them look bad. Just like Pukeilis this past August crying a river about how Joba "threw at his head" in hopes that the reporters would forget to ask about the saux getting swept! Jebus, what a bunch of passive aggressive little girls, they make Pavano look tough! (OK, that last part may be exxagerating a bit, lol.)

SoS - Agreed. In my opinion they should keep him in the pen until late June, put him in AAA for a few starts to stretch him out, bring him back up in july and have Joba replace Moose in the rotation.

TIME 4 #27
If we keep him in the pen. Then he is basically behind another year of gradually increasing his innings limit. You cant hold back a guy in the pen that has the potential to be an Ace. He starts in the pen this year so that he can have innings to spare come the middle to end of the year. Therefore he can be an asset as a starter come playoff time.

BBB-Theo’s pansy azz sweating my man Moose. I think he was just looking for something random and totally irrelevant to whine about rather than having to answer questions about A-Rod’s career numbers vs Colon!

<b><i>You might have hit the nail on the head.Maybe Colon can eliminate the middle man this year when he faces Alex and throw it over the wall for him. Plus it will keep his pitch count down.
