As part of our “Behind The Scenes” series, here’s a look at the dreaded PFP.
Phil Hughes looked great yesterday. This notebook also has word of a small (but important) adjustment by Andy Pettittte.
Hank Steinbrenner says he will talk about an extension for Brian Cashman during the season.

My man Joe D’Ambrosio of WTIC in Hartford was nice enough to have me on his show last night. You can listen here if you want.
Joe D calls UConn games (hoops and football) and does some work for ESPN. He’s also a good Yankees fan.

Thanks for writing about baseball and not congressional issues like everyone else today.
Nice piece on PFP. Lots of interesting details… that’s what we want, and that’s what you give us. Thanks, Pete.
Nice post — makes me itch to be there . . . . Perhaps the young pitchers should see a video montage of plays by Mariano, Pettite, Mussina, Guidry, Jim Kaat, Mel Stottlemyre, and so on. Plays that saved runs, games, whatever. And throw in The Jeter Play just to show what you can do if your head is in the game. Given the reports about how many of them have started with a good professional attitude, I’d expect this might translate.
i enjoyed this article; first time i’ve ever seen PFP detailed.
