Prediction: After a benches-clearing brawl in the fourth inning, the Gators will go on to defeat the Gooses 4-3 on Alex Rodriguez’s walk-off homer in the seventh. Rodriguez will then opt out of his intersquad contract and sign with the Gooses for any future games. “I just feel more comfortable with Melky and Robbie,” he will say. “But I did not consult Scott Boras.” Hank Steinbrenner, unsure whether to be angry about the loss or happy about the win, will offer no comment.
Stay tuned for blog play-by-play on at least the first couple of innings. At some point the clubhouse will be open so we can talk to Moose and Karstens.

Since inter- means “between” and intra- means “within,” shouldn’t this be called an intrasquad game? They are all Yankees, so it’s a game “within” the squad. Just saying. I’ve always used intra- for this kind of game.
I’m rooting for the gators cause Moose is pitching. Who would win a fight between a goose, gator and moose?
I don’t know if it really means much but i guess they’re hoping to see Shelly make a good run at the 1st base job since he’s at 1B while Ensberg is the DH. I thought it would be the other way around.

I think theres going to be more of a fight for 1B then I expected between Ensberg, Shelley and Giambi.. Maybe even Lane too.

Ransom played for the Astros for a few games last season. He is a non-roster invitee.
Interesting note:
Damon is playing LF and Gardner is playing CF. Joe must have his mind made up about where Damon is playing.

Derek, Girardi has said publically that he wants Damon to be the everyday LF and get 600+ ABs this season as the leadoff hitter… that is why he needs Giambi to play 1B as much as possible, because it leaves Matsui to DH.
Ah – the sun is out in NY and the Yankees are playing basebell (albeit in FL, but you get the idea). Life is good again!
No Matsui and no Action Jackson are puzzling. Any inside info on those two not playing Pete?

This is AMAZING!!! Our first line up of the year on Pete’s blog. There is light at the end of the tunnel!
Wouldn’t worry about not seeing Ajax and Godzilla. After all, we are looking at a seven inning game and I’m sure both teams will be burning up their benches with reckless abandon.
Prediction.
In the bench clearing brawl. Alex looks back at Posada and they start scrapping. Posada smartly keeps his mask on and scratches Arods face. Arod decided to do the 3 stooges eye gouging till Karstens gets there to pull Alex off him.
Duncan and Giambi then get it on. Duncan B-slaps(or celebration slaps)drops Giambi to the floor. Giambi then gets continuous elbows sandwiches till he taps out.

Saucy, that’s probably because most fantasy rankings are based on a player’s eligibility (usually 18 games played there the year before). They may have Giambi ranked as DH.

Didn’t Jackson have an abdominal strain or something like that last week? I would think that’s why he’s not in; if he’s injured, even slightly, there’s no reason to rush him into an intrasquad game in late February.
