Nice of Joe to let the prospects get a chance to show their stuff.

I heard that Jeter and Rodriguez are good. ROY potential.

    :)

Looks like business as usual. Guess they’re letting Sui rest his knee for a while. It’s nice to see the 2007 lineup back in place. :)

    No Matsui again.

  4. gayle February 28th, 2008 at 12:07 pm

read today that matsui prob wont see any game action until the 2nd week of game in spring training

Clearly we have some unfinished business to attend to with S. Florida. Is there an understood “mercy rule” in these games? And nothing says “no Bull” like sending Joba, IPK, and Hughes at them 1-2-3.
That pitching lineup is so exciting. Thanks for all the information, Peter!

why is matsui not in the line up???

  8. kd February 28th, 2008 at 12:15 pm

I guess Hideki still has jetlag. Kidding. Has there been an injury report? His knee? Tabata’s hand?

  9. Elizabeth February 28th, 2008 at 12:15 pm

Oh, and there ya go. Girardi said Matsui will start playing around March 10th

  10. Elizabeth February 28th, 2008 at 12:15 pm

    From this morning’s Post:

Hideki Matsui is running better on the surgically repaired right knee than he was at the start of camp. However, it’s likely the LF/DH won’t taste his first game action until March 10 to be sure of no setbacks.

“We are talking about the second full week [of games],” Girardi said. “It might be before that, but he is doing great. We want him to feel completely confident with it.”

Matsui agrees. “I would like to make sure I am well prepared before I go out there,” Matsui said. “I am feeling better.”

Tabata is fine, his hands are healthy too he was 3-4 yesterday in Intrasquad

I just hope we don’t get rocked. That wouldn’t be too funny.

I like this lineup, but I’d bat Cano last. He’ll score lots of runs with the big guns following him.

Eventually he’ll be an awesome #3 hitter.

  14. pat February 28th, 2008 at 1:20 pm

Girardi sticking to the lefty/righty or lefty/switch formula we have come to know in the past

  15. Elizabeth February 28th, 2008 at 1:34 pm

    Hey, if it’s ain’t broke….

interesting to see how this lineup holds up….if it was for first day of season, will be interesting to see what protection Big G can give Arod

  17. Amanda February 28th, 2008 at 6:44 pm

Does anyone know if this will be on MLB.tv tomorrow, or does that action not start until Sat?

  18. pete February 28th, 2008 at 6:47 pm

when’s cano going to bat third?? wouldn’t it be nice to give him a little (ahem, if arod can be called that) protection? After all, his achilles heel seams to be strikes out of the strike zone. Imagine the numbers he could put up (i’m thinking .350, 25-30 hrs, 130 rbis in the 3 spot).

I heard 1010AM in Tampa say they’ll broadcast the game live tomorrow starting at 1pm.

  20. UtilityMan February 28th, 2008 at 9:28 pm

Cant Wait…..Ill be there…in my seat hopefully not cold anymore.

  21. TIME 4 #27 February 28th, 2008 at 11:41 pm

I beleive if cano can just wait for his pitch he will hit 370, 30, 130, the think is he beleivs that he can hit evry pitch and he might be right…
