Upcoming pitching matchups:
Saturday vs. Philadelphia at Clearwater: Chien-Ming Wang vs. Adam Eaton.
Sunday vs. Philadelphia at Tampa: Andy Pettitte vs. Cole Hamels.
Monday vs. Houston at Kissimmee: Mike Mussina vs. Brandon Backe.
so i got on to the yankees website at exactly 10am… i waited online for approx 5 minutes to pick tickets for the game i wanted (a Sunday in May)…. and it told me the tickets i wanted were unavailable.
how is that possible? how can every seat for a random sunday game in May be sold out in 6 minutes?
i know it doesnt matter to the yankees that i didnt get a ticket, because they get their money from someone else, but this is just completely frustrating.
i find it incredibly hard to believe that i couldnt get 2 tickets for a sunday game in May within 6 minutes of tickets going on sale…
makes me believe they arent telling you the whole story… yes, single game tickets go onsale today, but only for certain games in certain sections of the stadium, while they hold back whole blocks of seats so they can offer them in 8 game packages, and you have to buy 7 other games you didnt originally want to get to the game you want.
UGH. sorry for the rant, but it gets me so frustrated.
i’m so excited everyone!! i managed to get tickets to three red sox games ove july 4th weekend!!!
Got my tickets for Jun 5th vs. the Jays (day game).
I am so excited!
Ticketmaster was slower than I’ve ever seen. Yankee fans from everywhere are probably trying to get into the Stadium for the last season.
turn two. that is shocking. i guess i was lucky because i already had two tickets to the 4th of july from my holiday pack and i just tried for single tickets to the other two games.
UGh I hate that message that keeps popping up that you have to click yes on.
I targeted the game I chose because 1. Day games during the week don’t normally sell out and 2. Let’s face it, it’s the Blue Jays. But I don’t care! It’s as much about the experience as the team they are playing.
But since we are out of towners, we don’t have the flexibility the locals do.
yeah, i’m almost ready just to give up for now and try back later this afternoon when the initial wave of craziness calms down a little bit on the website.
turn two. do you mind me asking where were the tickets you were looking for?
i got mine in Tier box MVP
I cannot get the altered text to appear that I need to type in to get past the security precaution to keep the bots out….getting pissed off
BX fordham road.:
try a different browser if you have one ( firefox for example)
Wow I guess I got lucky, seems several of us are having problems.
MikeEff,
Yeah I use Firefox and had no problem other than the wait.
yanksrule:
i watched the clock count down by the second on clicked on the dates i wanted using two computers at once right as the clock said 10 am
i looked in the loge section first, now i’ve shifted out to the blechers.
MikeEff,
I did the same and the wait went form 6,to 7 then 8 minutes then started to countdown. I had asked for Loge level and got pretty good seats just past 3rd.
Mike Eff…thanks…going to give that a shot
yanks rule:
i love the view from the upper deck. my holiday pack tickets are way up in tier 11 ( about half way to 1st base)
but the single tickets i got for the other two sox games are awesome. one is even in the first row of the deck right behind the plate tier box mvp 605
and one is in the 4th row. i kinda like going alone sometimes. i always meet cool people
yanksrule:
those seats you got sound awesome. i’ve never sat in the loge…i bet the view is great!
MikeEff,
Yeah agree. My son doesn’t know yet, he is flying in from Vegas to meet us there. I will prob tell him we are in the upper deck, last row (AKA the Uecker seats) just to mess with him.
Got a ticket to old timers day section 12 I’ll try to move near my friends. THey have tickets in section 6
still not working, it looks like “connections” and favors are the route this year….
in the new stadium they are getting $2,500 for the best seats, those tickets were $5.50 when I was a kid….absolutely out of control…my old man used to take me to 20-30 games a year growing up in the Bronx at 1.50 or 2.50 a pop….poor f#%*#ing kids now have no shot at living like that….
BX 12
you’re SO right. it’s truly a shame what things have come to. and those corporate types that get the expensive seats aren’t even real fans…they just use them to impress out of town clients.
F***
Mike Eff…
I have actually done pretty well and now work in sports, primarily on the international side (Olympics, Worl Cup, etc.) but feel really bad that every move baseball makes seems like they are trying to bleed the sport or drive kids and the average fan away….but having said that it is a bit like Ike and Tina….they keep coming back after the beatdown….in a free market economy this is what it is…wil be interesting to see the sports landscape after a real recession or economic downturn…
Andy making the Astros trip avoided. Think of the media circus that would have created.
I’m not being an apologist here for the ticket prices and availability, but note this last season had the most people in Yankees history signing up for ticket plans all across the board, i.e. all the various plans. They’re the folks who got first dibs on seats long before today, expensive and cheap. (And as this is the last season, you know many people signed up for plans only to plan reselling their tickets on the secondary market.)
So that’s certainly one reason why seats have been hard to get today–fewer seats available than years past. One thing I tried just for the hell of it (as I have a season plan and was looking for more games): from 10 to around 11 today, I tried getting a single ticket for some Red Sox and Mets games. Know what I got offered more than once? (But did NOT buy, mind you.) Box 6, row B! $325!! Insane. I’d pay that for an All-Star game, but not for a regular season game. Of course someone out there bought them….
want to see how the yanks do agains cole hammels tomorrow , a very tough lefty.
Woo hoo! Got my tickets (for a random game on June 30th) I have never seen ticketmaster move that slow. I’m in TN and taking my 3 kids up to the stadium for their first trip to the stadium ever, and first trip back for me since 2001 before I moved down this way. Anyway, I am VERY excited…hoping for a victory against the Rangers that night!! Go yanks.
i usually get tickets from my cousin who sends a list of available sunday games from his plan that he doesn’t plan to use, via email.
didn’t get an email from him yet. hope putting all my eggs in one basket doesn’t come back to haunt me. he sends that out every year.
