Can't sleep! I've been sick for 2 weeks. My body decides to have coughing fits between midnight and 5 am. It's pretty awesome.

Could be worse. We could have mascots and cheerleaders. I'd take "Yankees Universe" and "Pride, Power, Pinstripes!" over that any day!

goodnight Nettles.

Say it ain't so: it's definitely a lame slogan. But when are the Yankees NOT lame? Come on--the subway race? Just be thankful we don't have a giant green booger in a uniform running around.

I'm not attacking the charity, I just think the Yankee Universe thing is really stupid. Not the charity, the slogan.

Unfortunately, I have heard it compared to RSN on occasion. Not a lot, but I have heard it.

say it aint so - no problem. Hard to convey emotions when you're typing. We're both passionate, and it happens.

Before October 2008, it'll happen again.

The Key: Not to harbor hard feelings. We both want the same thing, and root for the same team.

It's all good my friend.

I'm heading to bed. I'll read what GF has to say (if he posts) and then I'm going to watch espnnews untl i fall alseep.

goodnight, Andrea, GF, and SayIt Aint So

"That’s the best way to hit your opponent - on the field and between the eyes"

I agree. It's the way when used to get to Pedro.

He'd hit Jeter/Soriano all the time.

The Yankees would just go win the game. lol

What can I say? I have a soft spot for charity? The Yankees sell t-shirts, the Red Sox have boxes for people to put change (or garbage) in in random spots around their stadium.

The Yankees Universe t-shirts are a really good idea too. I know no one really cares, but they're actually cheaper than the player t-shirts. At the stadium, the player shirts are about $25, and the YU are $20. So it seems they're actually trying to entice people to buy them.

G.F. -

Ahhh..but it did carry over in to the 2000's.

If you remember, the Yakees tried to get Randy Johnson in 2004.

Who dined them? Angelos while running the D-Backs.

When Tino got hit, that's when Big G challenged Peter to a "fist fight" lol

RSN issues membership cards that you pay for, but that fee gets you free audio on MLB.com to hear the games.

They are more of a "club" than Yankee Universe is.

Sure when the Yankee wanted to come up with something, they trumped the "nation" with the "universe" tag. It was a subtle shot but as Andrea said: proceeds go to charity and it's left at a t shirt.

again guys, no hard feelings. Most days I'm with you with the Hank stuff. Just my heart knows he shouldn't stoop to this level, but my mind kind of loves it a little.

Gets the rivalry juices going in late Feb/early March.

I apologize if anyone took what I said the wrong way.

First pitch 1:00 PM
