To Curtis - one big problem is that they do not let you bring in any backpacks, so you need to check your bag at the bowling alley and bring in any cameras in a ziplock bag which is a bit of a hassle.

Those words by Duncan sound like something Jeter or Arod would say. Aka those are some big words for a guy that may not even make the big league club and has a lot of competition. For a guy like duncan, numbers mean a lot. They mean that girardi can start making a case for him to be on the team in NY. He is talking like a vet for some reason. Maybe its cuz his dad is coaching and his brother is also playing - their dad has prolly been coaching them since they were two and he is well versed in the subject matter. I dont like hearing the whole results dont matter bussiness- for guys that r competing for a spot on the club, results certainly do matter. Girardi isnt going to say "well Duncan batted .011 for the spring but he looked good in about half of his strikeouts so he should be on the team."

Do you think they'd bring up Cervelli midseason if that happened?

Anyone concerned about who backs up Molina if either he or Jorge get hurt? Brown's a minors journeyman, Piliterre hasn't played above AA, Cervelli not above A.

Seems like that's a significant depth concern, though I'm sure some semi-warm body will be available in trade or cut at the end of spring. Just seems like something Cashman should have addressed. I mean, I'm all for promoting kids, but not inexperienced catchers. Maybe Cervelli can be our Jesus Flores.

They will have room for him in 09. With 85 million coming off the books they will have spots open. Abreu might not be brought back.

Pete: Would really be curious to know what your take is so far on Austin Jackson? What has been his most impressive attribute in camp? His base running? Bat? Fielding? And does he remind you of any past or current players? Thanks.

This is the year that Jose Tabata shows that he's a 5-tool player. He'll draw raves in Trenton and be a late cut in spring training of '09.
Pencil him in as a corner outfielder for the big team in 2010.
