Now it’s tied at Legends Field

Posted by: Peter Abraham - Posted in Misc on Mar 02, 2008 Print This Post Print This Post | Email This Post Email This Post

Alberto Gonzalez Justin Christian dumped a little RBI single into center and now it’s 7-7.

There is nothing worse than extra-innings games in spring training. Nobody wants them.

Jose Veras 1-2-3 top of the ninth. Time to head back to the clubhouse. The manager tends to hold his postgame sessions immediately after the game.

    The Joe Giradi show. wow.

  2. Rebecca--Optimist Prime--Mission 2708 March 2nd, 2008 at 3:58 pm

they don’t always go to extras though.

  3. AndrewYF March 2nd, 2008 at 3:58 pm

Pete, don’t they just leave it tied? There have been a couple tied games already this season.

  4. Andrea March 2nd, 2008 at 3:59 pm

I love when Michael Kay thinks he’s funny.

Jennifer: about Wagner and his comments to the college kid: he said it to the UM baseball players he was facing last week. I heard it on Mike and the Mad Dog. Even they were appalled, and they love stuff like that.

  5. Kat March 2nd, 2008 at 3:59 pm

I’m happy with a tied game. Although it would be nice to see one of kids smack one out of here, I remember last year the kids kept winning the games late in the game for the yanks.

  6. Mark Alan March 2nd, 2008 at 4:02 pm

If this goes to extra innings, I hate to say it, but no one is to blame but Farnsworth. (I’m kidding, of course, but I’m preparing for the worst.)

  9. BBB March 2nd, 2008 at 4:05 pm

Pete I can’t keep up with you haha, I don’t know which of these to post on now!

Andrea: UM = Miami Hurricanes? Awhellnaw!!! Now I hate him even more!! Those are A-Rod’s boys too, I wonder if he knows?

  12. Fran March 2nd, 2008 at 4:07 pm

Tomorrow we’re @ Houston in Kissimee. Pete, is Moose getting the start?

  20. Say it ain't so March 2nd, 2008 at 4:11 pm

    Moose vs. Backe tomorrow.

  21. jennifer-Phil Hughes saved!! March 2nd, 2008 at 4:12 pm

  22. Nettles Punched Bill Lee March 2nd, 2008 at 4:14 pm

espn is showing baseball tonight right now and i think they said joba will be joining them shortly.

they are in la, so i assume via satellite

  23. BBB March 2nd, 2008 at 4:15 pm

As “same old same old” as I Want My WB looked today, he did have a good game yesterday w/a HR and a couple of solid/fairly lenghty ABs. So I still have some hope that he is progressing in the right direction. It is all about using him correctly once the season starts, as of now I don’t think he’ll make a good pinch hitter off the bench cause he K’s too much, but he could help the team by starting in matchups that favor him.

  24. Nettles Punched Bill Lee March 2nd, 2008 at 4:15 pm

    edit: they are in orlando

  25. BBB March 2nd, 2008 at 4:17 pm

Thanks guys, wow I forgot Backe even existed! He’s been out a long while, had TJ I guess. Anyway go MOOOOOOSE! I am all amped up for a big year for him!

  26. jennifer-Phil Hughes saved!! March 2nd, 2008 at 4:21 pm

    Was Joba on yet?

  27. Say it ain't so March 2nd, 2008 at 4:25 pm

BBB, sorry I guess they changed it. MLB.com says Wandy’s pitching for the ‘stros.

  28. jennifer-Phil Hughes saved!! March 2nd, 2008 at 4:26 pm

I keep getting shout outs on the daily news blog. :D
Good comment by yankeeschick, by the way. I think you’re right – Girardi will get more bench guys involved, I agree.

  29. Rebecca--Optimist Prime--Mission 2708 March 2nd, 2008 at 4:32 pm

Who’d Boston have pitch the ninth?

  30. Rebecca--Optimist Prime--Mission 2708 March 2nd, 2008 at 4:33 pm

Jennifer: You get shout outs cos you know your stuff!

  31. jennifer-Phil Hughes saved!! March 2nd, 2008 at 4:33 pm

    Hanson.

    Did I miss Joba?

  32. Andrea March 2nd, 2008 at 4:33 pm

I love that all the fans booed when they realized there would be no extra innings.

  33. Fran March 2nd, 2008 at 4:39 pm

Jennifer – did not see Joba yet. But I read in the NY Times on Friday that Joba was going to Orlando to participate in ESPN the weekend. (I think it’s about an hour or so from Tampa to Orlando)And he was supposed to be bringing a family of 5 who won some contest in Joba’s home town in Nebraska.

  34. Brandon (Proud supporter of "Alex being Alex") March 2nd, 2008 at 4:40 pm

Hanson’s career would have been better if we would have drafted him, he’s an arm Nardi can absolutely repair, I hope he gets DFA

  35. Brandon (Proud supporter of "Alex being Alex") March 2nd, 2008 at 4:41 pm

btw Spurs vs Nets in an hour

  37. Rebecca--Optimist Prime--Mission 2708 March 2nd, 2008 at 4:44 pm

I got to do course work now, though, cos I didn’t do work and watched baseball instead. This is kinda why I like night games…motivation to get my work done earlier!

  38. BBB March 2nd, 2008 at 4:47 pm

Baseball Tonight is on in 10 mins (ugh @ having to look at fatty John Kruk and the vein in his forehead that pulsates in envy whenever he mentions A-Rod); TV Guide Channel says “ESPN the Weekend,” is that what Joba’s gonna be on?

  39. Brandon (Proud supporter of "Alex being Alex") March 2nd, 2008 at 4:55 pm

I’m guessing Alex called Kruk fat one day, because he literally takes some sissy shots on him ala Leyritz and we all saw how KARMA bit him on the a…

  40. BBB March 2nd, 2008 at 5:01 pm

Brandon, I have never in my entire life seen a bigger case of you-know-what envy than Kruk has for Alex!! A shrink would have a ball with that one, lol.

I’m watching right now, Kruk & Phillips talking smack about Hank’s comments. Shocking! And when they did a screen shot of all the Saux fans at the event, some dude in a Strahan jersey (I think? Couldve been Tuck too) jumped into the shot, w00t!!

  41. Brandon (Proud supporter of "Alex being Alex") March 2nd, 2008 at 5:02 pm

woot to the Giants jersey

  42. BBB March 2nd, 2008 at 5:04 pm

Keep saying Moose isn’t a factor, Steve Phillips!!

    What’s a 4-letter synonym for WRONG?

  43. Brandon (Proud supporter of "Alex being Alex") March 2nd, 2008 at 5:07 pm

    D I …. CK jeans are now 30 % off

  44. Fran March 2nd, 2008 at 5:07 pm

When they highlighted the Yankees off season moves they left off Mo re-signing.

  45. Dr. Cox March 2nd, 2008 at 5:10 pm

and they left out the Cano deal.

  46. Brandon (Proud supporter of "Alex being Alex") March 2nd, 2008 at 5:11 pm

I like how they put Dustin McGowan as the next legend but Kennedy and Hughes are so inconsistant and young and may be busts

  47. Andrea March 2nd, 2008 at 5:11 pm

Did anyone else see Joba’s sweet ink?

    BBB–I know you

  48. Andrea March 2nd, 2008 at 5:12 pm

oops. Should have said: BBB, I know you like the tats ;)

  49. Fran March 2nd, 2008 at 5:13 pm

    Dr. Cox – right

Brandon – I noticed that. McGowan can be a stud. The Yankee young pitchers (all three) may be inconsistent. Good for McGowan he is not on the Yanks or ESPN would have him go from stud to dud!

  50. Brandon (Proud supporter of "Alex being Alex") March 2nd, 2008 at 5:14 pm

Joba will be on as soon as the old Braves get off the chair.

I hope Joba gives Gammons/Philips the mean mug

  51. McLovin March 2nd, 2008 at 5:14 pm

Great Pettitte and Giambi are the main stars of the day.IT will be a tainted World Series if they are the major guys.

    HGH Pettitte ALCS MVP

“The Clear” Giambi World Series MVP

    Yeah great.

  52. BBB March 2nd, 2008 at 5:16 pm

Andrea, yeah, I was lovin’ what we saw of Joba’s ink! He needs to counsel Giambi and Farnsworth on how to avoid lame tribals and/or barbed wire, LOL.

  53. Brandon (Proud supporter of "Alex being Alex") March 2nd, 2008 at 5:17 pm

    Gammons w/ a horrible joke

  54. Brandon (Proud supporter of "Alex being Alex") March 2nd, 2008 at 5:24 pm

jesus could ESPN not embarrass baseball anymore than they already are doing

  55. Andrea March 2nd, 2008 at 5:28 pm

BBB: I wish there was like, a yankeesink.com so we could see everyone’s ink.

    we have problems.

Sigo escuchando las noticias hablan de librarse las solicitudes de subvención en línea por lo que he estado buscando el mejor sitio para conseguir uno.
