I love Joba but his body of work last year is small. There are a lot of flashes in the pan-Shane Spencer, Bubba Crosby etc. String together two good season and will take care of his kids, kids , kids.

The yankees should cut Joba loose as in prep him and put him in the starting lineup. Don't hold this young man back anymore then you have to. The starting pitching staff should be Wang, Joba, Pettite, Kennedy and possibly Jeff Karstens. I would start Mussina in the bullpen for long relief and a spot starter. They should also put that other young kid named Shelly Duncan in the lineup. He has all around power and should be your everyday 1st baseman.

PLEASE DONT TALK POLITICS HERE...LETS KEEP IT BASEBALL TALK.
Melki deserves more money,Joba and Hughes will get cash sometime in the future(as well as Melki)but i do believe that the Yankees can pay a little more to the future of our team.Just to make them happier.

I just read about Papelbon in today's paper. Yes, he's good at what he does, but he's only been doing it for 2 seasons. To suggest that he should be setting salary standards for closers at this point in his career is preposterous.

A lot of why people respect certain baseball players is because they have a humility about them, and a quiet purpose. But I think Papelbon is simply a reflection of his generation - outspoken and wanting it all now, without having to put in the time. I know I generalize, and I apologize for that - there are always exceptions.

I am so tired of the overcast, rainy days. I'm ready for some sunshine!

The players don't give their teams a break, so why should a team just give extra money to a player before arbitration and free agency? It works both ways.
