Three straight losses, somebody call Hank

The Yankees fell 9-5 as Steven White allowed two runs in the seventh and Jose Veras two more in the ninth.

Joe Girardi put Brian Bruney in a tough spot in the eighth inning, bringing him in with the bases loaded and one out. He struck out Victor Diaz and then gave up a two-run single by Lance Niekro.

“I thought he threw well,” said Girardi, who is looking for situations to see what he has (or could have) in the bullpen.

The Shelley Duncan Era is over as he was 0 for 3. Brett Gardner and Greg Porter were each 2 for 2.

And the fans of the non-existent, ESPN-created Red Sox “Nation” predict domination in the AL East based on the three game losing streak by the AAA Yankees.

LaTroy Hawkins also coughed up 2 runs after coming in with the score tied. I suspect we’ll be seeing a lot of that this season from him.

Gardner is fast as hell. I was at the game and by the time the ball landed, he was already rounding second base on his triple.

What is the health status of Matsui? Is he going to be able to go full tilt by opening Day?
