Yankees look to titanium for assistance

phiten.jpgThere are two things you can’t count on from baseball players: They love free stuff and they’ll try most anything to stay healthy (well except steroids or HGH of course).

So it was with great joy that the Yankees welcomed Shiro Nitta into the clubhouse this morning. Shiro is the general sales manager for Phiten. They’re the Seattle outfit that makes necklaces, bracelets and other products infused with titanium.

According to their website, these products will enhance circulation, promote relaxation, stabilize energy flow, reduce stress and soothe tension.

I can’t tell you whether they work or not as I have never tried them. But several players will wear them all season. Luis Vizcaino used to wear five or six titanium necklaces at the same time. Randy Johnson is a big believer as well.

Shiro was nice enough to give me a necklace and a bracelet. I may wrap them around my head to see it helps my writing. I could use some stabilized energy flow.
