It's only a matter of days when the next wave of cuts see Cody Ransom, Bernie Castro, Nick Green, Justin Christian, Greg Porter, and Colin Curtis re-assigned.
Decisions have to be made in what to do with Henn and Igawa as Traber and Phillips continue to make a case to stay.
Brian Bruney, Chris Britton, and Edwar Ramirez have little wiggle room.
Scott Patterson is an interesting read.

Now I understand why many foreigners have difficulty with American english - when the same phrase-major league baseball pitcher - can be used to describe both Hughes and Igawa.

As long as Phil doesn't get hurt he's going to have nice season.

Compared to who their #3 or #4 starter was last year - even if he does slightly better than league average he'd be an enormous upgrade over what they had.

I think that's the important thing with the kids and expectations for this season.

They won't be great - they'll have learning pains - but they don't need to be great as long as Wang and Pettite perform up to expectations.

The red sox had the best overall rotation in the AL last year. Their #3,4,and 5 starters gave them league average to worse than league average innings over the course of the season (that includes Matsuzaka).

Trying not to get too excited cuz it's spring, but Phil looks great and he should go north with a lot of confidence.
