The Yankees and Rays remain at odds as Shelley Duncan issues some ominous words.

Phil Hughes has been nearly perfect this spring. This notebook also has an update on Hideki Matsui, some more cuts and progress for A-Rod and Jorge Posada.


Yankees play their first night game of the spring this evening as they face the Reds at Legends Field.

I slept until past 7 a.m. for the first time since Feb. 10 and now I’m working on some expense reports that I let slide.
