A few updates

Andy Pettitte played catch this morning and had no discomfort in his elbow. He will throw his usual bullpen tomorrow, complete with long toss to warm up.
Johnny Damon will DH once the comedian comes out of the game. His bruised toes are fine.
Stump Merrill was back at Legends Field today with a nasty cut on his lip. He lost a tooth and needed a root canal but is otherwise OK. Stump was hit by a thrown ball during batting practice yesterday.
Yogi Berra is back from the PGA pro-am be played earlier this week. I asked him what he shot. “Me?” he said. “A lot.”

Yogi = G-d.
who threw the ball at Stump
Thanks, Pete. Even through the whole hullabaloo, my main thoughts were with Andy.
Good news on Merrill.
Please tell me Crystal wasnt the one who threw the ball.
Why are you so bitter of the Billy Crystal thing Pete?
Schilling on 60-day DL. Over/under on number of times he’s on it?
Does anyone notice that Joba ALWAYS sings the national anthem? When I went to games at the Stadium last year, and he was out in the bullpen, I saw him singing God Bless America too.
Anyone have a link to a gamecast?
The Grateful Dead did a great job with the anthem. Seriously!
Ugh. This Crystal thing is beyond ridiculous. Reminds me of that line in Seinfeld “Ruth, Dimaggio, Mantle…Costanza?” Then again, one could argue “Ruth, Dimaggio, Mantle, Pavano.” At least this doesn’t really hurt the team.
mel once, because he will be on it the entire year.
I’m sure he’ll be sore for a few days, but hopefully he feels better soon.
Keith- why do you think he is bitter? Billy is a comedian. Lighten up.
Schilling = Boston’s version of Carl Pavano for 2008.
well, at least he made contact up there. was hoping he’d get on base. oh well.
SO glad Pettitte is OK. the last thing this team needs is an injury to a key player…
We need some pix of Stump. Pete?
