Everyone, read Olney’s blog, and actual quotes from Girardi. Pete is pretty much dead, and by dead I mean DEAD, wrong on this one. Girardi flatly stated he supports Duncan, and didn’t think it was a dirty play. He said he talked to Duncan, Duncan told him he was just going for the glove, and Girardi stated, flatout, to the media, that he takes Duncan at his word.

But, don’t expect Pete to actually, you know, admit he was wrong. See, he’s a reporter.

Isn’t it amusing to see all these Tampa fans taking the paper bags off of their heads and enjoying their 15 minutes in the spotlight instead of wallowing in shame, self-pity and humiliation ? The juvenile posturing is really quite comical. Reminds me of the kid in the schoolyard who never gets picked for the team until the teacher intervenes.

I say let’s be magnanimous and let them enjoy it. For the remainder of the season they can fight it out with the Orioles for the bottom of the AL East. Some things never change.

The whole organization just got a full reaming on tv for being classless and over the top for spring training. Girardi - overzealous. Duncan - hack. It’s embarassing, you know why its embarassing? Because it isnt going to mean squat this year as far as winning. It is going to be bad.

Pete, good lord man. I have read three OTHER accounts of the conversation, NONE of which reach the conclusion you do based on his “body language”. Try, just TRY to write about facts and try not to draw dubious conclusions.

Most of all, make even a slight attempt to leave the SUPER SMUG at home. I realize you get all kinds of nasty mail and stuff but you are just making it worse. Attacking Yankee fans and being smug, arrogant, and sarcastic is just not a winning formula. I think you would be vastly better off if you drop the holier than thou act.

Wow, now I HAVE seen it all. I thought Red Sox fans trolling a Yankee blog was lame, but at least they are part of the biggest rivalry in sports. But a D’Rays fan trolling a Yankee blog ? Are you kidding me ?
