ugh…this means Igawa will be in the televised game

  2. sam

    guess andy’s arm is better.

  3. Rishi

Kei gets to practice his new skills against the Rays…just kidding :)

  4. mel

    sam,

Saw an update (by Pete?) earlier that Andy played catch and felt fine afterward. He’ll do his regular bullpen tomorrow.

  5. Nettles vs. Lee

I want to see Igawa take down Gomes.

  6. Hobs

To: Peter or anyone who would know,

Will Phil be pulled at 70 pitches or 5 IP? Or is it whichever comes first?

  7. Ranting Guy

So do we have a sense of the rotation / order will be from opening day on?

I’ll know you’re kidding if you say Pavano and Igawa pitch the first two games.

  8. Fran

Rishi – I thought the same thing when I saw Igawa pitching against the Rays Saturday. But he really has no control and hits batters (see Pete’s earlier post today about Igawa). What happens if he hits a Ray?

  9. Wouter

Hell, if Igawa drills Gomes, then we have an excuse: “Dude, he even hit his translator the other day! Premeditated? 46 million $ premeditated!” Of course, hitting his translator was just part of Igawa’s plot ;o). And hitting everyone on a college team… And… ehm.. :o )

  10. Ranting Guy

You can tell whether Igawas hits Gomes intentioally or not by how many bounces the ball makes before it hits Gomes.

  11. jay destro

hey pete, ill see you sunday…

  12. Ranting Guy

    2 is the over/under

  13. Ranting Guy

Wang Pettite Moose Hughes Kennedy with Joba in the ‘pen and Igawa in SWB?

  14. Brian

Yanks are being optimistic about Kei going 3-4 innings…that’s a lot to ask him lol

  15. kd

I guess it really won’t matter if Kei plunks a Ray, he won’t be in the bigs this year anyway.

My guess is that he hits someone and gets tossed. Then hopefully the starters are out of the game so no one breaks anything. This season will be all about the pesky Rays plunking Jeter and saying he’s diving out over the plate.

  16. Rishi

So how do they decide who plays in which Saturday game?

  17. Client 10

Are we ever gonna get to see Hughes pitch this Spring Training on TV? Jeez.

  18. Therston

is there a reason i have to see igawa or mussina during every televised game? Are they doing it just to taunt us???!!!

  19. Andrea - anti-anti

someone asked in the previous thread of Pavano’s at camp; he is. I saw him. Why he’s there, I do not know.

Pavano should totally have to stand in the batter’s box for Igawa.

  20. Ranting Guy

Andrea – Pavano would get injured getting out of the way of an outside pitch.

  21. jennifer-Phil Hughes saved!! Mussina is NOT DONE! anti RAYS!

    Wouter

I thought the same thing!! Ugh and we have to watch the Kei game. Kei stinks!!

  22. Ranting Guy

He’d slip a disc picking up a bat.

He’d catch a hangnail tying his shoe laces and it’d get infected.

He’d give himself a concussion putting his batting helmet on.

He’d hurt himself putting a batting glove on and need TJ surgery again.

He’d neuter himself putting his cup on.

  23. Andrea - anti-anti

Ranting Guy: he’s already out for the season. Who cares? At least get some use out of him!

  24. susan mullen

I just noticed Yankee Lohud Blog sponsors the page on Baseball-Reference for Kyle Farnsworth. This vote of confidence will no doubt help him to keep the ball in the park.

  25. jennifer-Phil Hughes saved!! Mussina is NOT DONE! anti RAYS!

    Interesting information about Tuesday.

    http://www.hokiesports.com/bas.....13aaa.html

  26. Ranting Guy

Andrea – wouldn’t want to risk delaying his epic comeback for the stretch run … :)

  27. Stu H

This means Igawa has a real chance to be the long man/situational lefty….

  28. jennifer-Phil Hughes saved!! Mussina is NOT DONE! anti RAYS!

No it doesn’t Joe doesn’t want his star’s playing against the Rays. Mark my words it will be a team full of minor leaguers.

  29. jason

Can anyone comment about Joba being prepared as a starter during the spring? I thought the consensus was that he will start the season in the bullpen, then get stretched out in the minors at some point, and return to the Yankees to finish the season in the rotation. Will being prepped as a started, then becoming a reliever, then becoming a starter have any ill effects on his arm?

  30. Andrea - anti-anti

Ranting Guy–I don’t think he has to pick up the bat. So we’re clear on that one. The rest of those things–eh. he’ll live.

  31. Ranting Guy

Or he’s being given a longer chance to make the team, Stu.

Not sure what the plan is for him really. I once heard Cashman said (at least I thought it was Cashman) something to the effect that he’d rather have 7 good righties in the bullpen than have 6 good righties and a mediocre lefty just for the sake of having a lefty.

Makes sense if the righties are all good enough they can get anyone out not just righties.

I sort of sense that they’re open to using Igawa as that lefty until he proves following this concept to be wiser.

  32. Ranting Guy

If he’s out for the season anyways, Andrea, maybe Pavano can help the team by being a tackling dummy so Shelley can prepare for the next Tampa Rays series.

  33. jennifer-Phil Hughes saved!! Mussina is NOT DONE! anti RAYS!

They are starting in st as a starter in case someone gets hurt. I truly believe that he will start the season in the pen, and stretch him back out in the middle of the season. No there won’t be ill effects on his arm. He will be fine.

  34. gayle

Just what we need (see previous post) against the Rays a pitcher with no control

  35. Andrea - anti-anti

Ranting Guy: I personally think they should set up a dunk tank in monument park and ask fans for a dollar or two, to go to charity of course, for the opportunity to dunk Carl Pavano.

  36. Ranting Guy

It’s be funny if the tank had no water in it and Pavano was blindfolded, Andrea.

  37. jennifer-Phil Hughes saved!! Mussina is NOT DONE! anti RAYS!

I’d run up to it and it the button. I am embarrassed to say that I actually went to see him a few years ago. He was signing autos at a sprint store that just opened. I was told Jason was supposed to be there, but something came up and Carl was there.

  38. Rishi

Did anyone see the article on mlb.com that says Joba has the 2nd best fastball in baseball…

  39. jennifer-Phil Hughes saved!! Mussina is NOT DONE! anti RAYS!

Has anyone heard he threw the ball that hit stump?

  40. Andrea - anti-anti

Jennifer: are you starting Pavano rumors?

  41. jennifer-Phil Hughes saved!! Mussina is NOT DONE! anti RAYS!

Andrea which comment are you referring to?

  42. Andrea - anti-anti

“Has anyone heard he threw the ball that hit stump?”

I assume you meant Pavano ;)

For those interested, Bill James posted his player-by-player projections for the RS for 2008. And he’s their key analyst?

Will someone please explain how the RS are projected to repeat in the ALE with the following SP results:

    Beckett 14-8
    Matsuzaka 14-8
    Wakefield 11-9
    Lester 10-10
    Colon 4-4

    Mirabelli cut loose by REDSUX

  48. Andrea - anti-anti

Jennifer: I have no problem with the rumor you have started. In fact, I’ll buy a tshirt endorsing it.

UtilityMan: I saw that. Think that means they intend to have Wakefield in the bullpen or something? Varitek cannot catch the knuckleball, and they know that.

  49. CaptainsCorner

I can see another brawl starting with Igawa pitching against the Rays. Girardi is going to have to explain to the Dirty Rays that Igawa never knows where the ball is going so don’t think it is on purpose.

Also they should let Pettitte pitch in a minor league game on Monday. It is really neccessary for him to sit in the car for 5 hours just to face the Sox, they will see enough of him during the season he doesn’t need to face them now.

  50. UtilityMan

I wonder if CashMoney will try and sign Doug….this Moeller guy doesnt hit very well.He did say that they were looking for another veteran after signing Moeller.

And I know there is certainly a possibilty a team will sign him to a major league contract…but just an idea…time will tell. They almost had him a few yrs ago after the Padres traded him back.

  51. jennifer-Phil Hughes saved!! Mussina is NOT DONE! anti RAYS!

They are coming to us. But agreed Andy shouldn’t face the soxs. Let him pitch in a minor league game.

  52. UtilityMan

That drive is only 2 and half hours not 5.

But jen is right the game is at Legends Field on Monday…I will be there.

Jennifer: do you mean Doug Mirabelli or Doug Mientkiewicz?

  59. UtilityMan

    Understood CaptainsCorner….

  60. OldYanksFan

Beckett only wins 14? I doubt that.
Hughes is our #5 starter, and his IP limit is 30+ less then IPK.

  61. UtilityMan

    Andrea
    I think she means Mirabelli.

  62. SJ44

Mirabelli is a jerk. One of the least liked guys in the game.

Moeller is going to be catching in Scranton.

They don’t need Mirabelli and he isn’t interested in going to Scranton.

  63. SJ44

    OYF,

If Beckett isn’t healthy, 14 wins is probably his threshold.

If he’s healthy, he will win more than 14.

I find it more interesting that he thinks Colon will win 4 games.

It will be a miracle if he can pitch 4 effective games this year, let alone win them.

  64. Boston Dave

I remember Mirabelli ripped his old team (Padres?) when he went back to the Sox and said something to the effect of “thankfully I’m going to a real team now”

  65. Boston Dave

Bill James predicted John Smoltz would win 17 games, and no other pitcher would have as many (Santana 16). He clearly is going low with his pitching win totals.

  66. Boston Dave

Colon has a better chance of winning 4 games if he’s in the bullpen.

  67. Ranting Guy

    Back Bench –

I expect Laptop is going to have a pretty good year but not THAT good. :)

Beckett’s probably good for winning more than 14 assuming he’s not injured too much. He’s not prone to Pavanoitis but he’s not exactly someone you can pen in for 34 quality starts each & every year.

He’s close to my guesses on Matsuzaka and Wakefield but IMO I think they’ll both win 1 or 2 more that he gives them credit for.

Realize these are merely guesses on my part.

I thought Schilling could give it a try and get a handful of wins just on guts alone before his arm really gave out, but it looks like he may not get that far. He’s gone from WS icon to nearly a Pavano, saved by the fact that he’d only be accountable for a 1 year contract wasted on the DL instead of about 3 1/2 out of 4 years on the DL.

In his place Colon will show he can be brilliant again, at times, but he will also stink in as many games as he’s brilliant. This only bodes well for the Yanks.

  68. Garry Majka

Long time reader, first time poster. I’m looking for suggestions. My daughter is a freshman at Va.Tech. She is on the yearbook staff in the sports section. One of her assignments is to cover the Hokie-Yankee game. One hitch:they didn’t give her a ticket to the game or a pass of any kind. They told her to copy one of the newspaper articles. Now is it true that some students are scalping the tickets? The school has a lottery for students to sporting events with freshmen not getting much chance. So should I forward her money or can she get tickets some other way?

  69. whozat

“In his place Colon will show he can be brilliant again, at times, but he will also stink in as many games as he’s brilliant.”

I really don’t think so. I mean…he was throwing in the mid 80s in winter ball, and now I’m supposed to believe that he’s magically throwing 93? No dice.

  70. Boston Dave

If there were any real chance Colon would show flashes of brilliance, a team would have taken a chance on him prior to the desperate Sox giving him a shot. He is going to be horrible.

  71. Andrea - anti-anti

UtilityMan: you’re right.I’m kind of dumb. Mientkiewicz was on the replay of the Yankee game and happened to be on the screen when she wrote that, so for a second I thought it was live and she was saying something about him.

A Mirabelli comment makes more sense.

  72. Boston Dave

    whozat,

supposedly Colon hit 93-94 once but almost all of his fastballs were in the 89-90 range. either way, that isnt enough to get hitters out. he doesnt have anything else and there is almost no chance he sustains low-mid 90’s fastballs for more than an inning or two.

he’s be more use in the bullpen on the Rays.

  73. Michael L

so on sat. we get to watch Iwaga instead of Joba or Kennedy on YES? Come on now Joe.

  74. Therston

it must have to do with trying to keep the kids away from lots of video coverage this spring so teams wont as much information on them before the season starts beyond straight scouting…just a guess.

  75. Back Bench

    Two questions:

    1) Does anyone know if Bill James (or someone with cred) has done a similar forecast for the NYY?

    2) If MLB and YES do not cover a game, does that mean there is no good video record available to the other teams? For example, the pitch-by-pitch viewpoint we like for the Y3K.

  76. Nick

    - Beckett if healthy will have a good year but not like ‘07.

    - Matsuzaka is what he is. Not the phenom as advertised. The hitters grapevine figured him out in short order in ‘07.

    - Lester will have to show command and go more than 5 innings.

    - Wakefield runs hot & cold. Back problems are to be
    watched and he’s 41.

    - Buchholz will have innings limitations.

    - Colon ? Why didn’t any other time sign him before spring training ?

    - The farm system offers no hope on the immediate horizon.

In summary, too much has to go right for the staff to be labeled as a difference maker.

  77. gayle

Gary if she is actually credited staff for the yearbook and will be working for the yearbook while at the game perhaps she should contact the sports information office at the school and see if she can get a press pass of some sort.

Although I assume she might have done that already ifthey told her just to copy the article from the paper (not a greatthing to tell a student to do by the way) she might have already gone that route. Perhaps the editor of the yearbook can go back to them and ask again

I imagine there will be scalpers there not sure what the law is in VA (ie you cant scalp ticket in front of the stadium here)

  78. jennifer-Phil Hughes saved!! Mussina is NOT DONE! anti RAYS!

Sj- What player do you think would make the team that would surprise us?

Andrea- Yes I was referring to that catcher that was released by the soxs.

Garry- From what I’ve read VT is being very strict with tickets. They are checking student id’s and I would assume they will be checking student id #’s against a list when they try to enter. So I’d advise against sending money to buy tickets from a “scalper”. If she is supposed to cover the game for the yearbook she should speak with her editor to get her a ticket. How is she supposed to cover it and not be there?

  79. Boston Dave

Bill James said Pettite would be 14-9 I believe.

  80. jennifer-Phil Hughes saved!! Mussina is NOT DONE! anti RAYS!

So far it is supposed to be 59 in VT, and cloudy. Not too bad, as long as we don’t see snow in the forecast for 40’s it will be cool.

  81. CB

Boston is going to have difficulty with their pitching depth.

With Schilling down and Buchholz how slotted for his spot they no longer have any major league ready reserves.

Their two closest decent arms – Justin Masterson and Michael Bowden aren’t ready to pitch as major league starters.

This year, if the yankees can surprise, it not going to be one superstar who does it but the depth of the organization.

  82. whozat

“This year, if the yankees can surprise”

Would it really be a surprise to see the Yanks get to the post-season? And, once there…would it REALLY be a surprise to see them go pretty far? I mean…it wouldn’t surprise me if Wang, Pettitte and Hughes all have good to great seasons, and Ian, Moose, Karstens, Horne, Joba provide a solid 4/5 among them. And then you throw Wang, Andy, Joba and Phil at a team during the postseason?

  83. jennifer-Phil Hughes saved!! Mussina is NOT DONE! anti RAYS!

Whoever does the graphics for yes needs to be fired. They put up a graphic that said that O’Neill was the 2004 batting champion. Um that would be 1994! Paul must have fallen sleep as well, because he didn’t correct him.

  84. Clare

Kepner has a nice article on Duncan:

    http://www.nytimes.com/2008/03.....ref=slogin

  85. Andrea - anti-anti

whozat: has Horne pitched in ST yet?

  86. Dee

Clare – thanks for the link, I really enjoyed it.

My favorite part: Shelley’s passion –
“That was during the White Sox years, when Duncan toddled around on Family Day and marveled at the fireworks over old Comiskey Park. He was 6 when La Russa and his father were fired, and he was so distraught that his father took him along for the drive home to Tucson. Chris and their mother, Jeanine, flew ahead.

“Shelley was really upset about it, and I wanted to kind of calm him down,” Dave Duncan said. “We were about halfway there and we’re listening to the radio, and a report comes on that says the manager in Oakland was fired. Shelley said: ‘Dad, we’ve got to call those people! That’d be perfect!’ ”

  87. whozat

“whozat: has Horne pitched in ST yet?”

He pitched an inning the other day and was sent down with a couple other dudes to minor league camp. He wasn’t getting in games much anyway, and the minor league camp was starting to do intrasquad games in prep for the real minor league games starting up, so opportunities were starting up down there for regular work.

  88. Joe from Long Island

Clare – that was a very nice article by Tyler Kepner on Shelley. I really hope he sticks with the team, and does well.

I think Alan Horne was sent down to the minor league camp the other day. I think he pitched one inning in ST. I think the thought process was that he was going to Scranton anyway, why take innings away from guys they have to make decisions on…

  89. Warrior21

Why are they having Igawa start against a Major league team, and sending Kennedy against Minor league scrubs? Seems backwards to me especially after Kennedy’s last outing.

  90. Brandon (Proud supporter of "Alex being Alex" ) (I slay the Anti)

Igawa needs the tuning vs ML teams more than Ian sad but true

  91. Back Bench

Anyone catch Cone’s impression that Jose Molina will be assigned as Mussina’s catcher during the season? This would take some of the load off of Jorge, but it may hurt the Y3K as well. I’m sure I’ve missed something, but it seems to me that while Jorge is better offensively, Molina does a better job in the game of recognizing what the batters are able to do/trying to do and then adjusting accordingly.

  92. Joe from Long Island

Warrior, I think they want to keep IPK on schedule, so that’s Saturday. As for Igawa, it looks like they’re trying to give him every opportunity to show he can succeed at the ML level. Having a lot invested in him, they’re not really interested in seeing if he can get minor leaguers out. Unfortunately, for both Iggy and us, he’s fumbling his chances. (Did he really hit his translator with a pitch? See Pete’s post a couple back.)

  93. Yankee Stadium or Yankees Stadium

    “Yankee” fan or “Yankees” fan?

  94. Yankee Stadium or Yankees Stadium

    I’m confused.

  95. Clare

An interesting quote from Giambi given the recent debate here:

“There’s always those guys that you’ll love them if they’re on your team. You don’t necessarily like them if they’re on the other team. You’re always going to play against guys like that. I don’t know if Shelley is like that, but I’ve got to tell you, we love him on our team.”

    http://newyork.yankees.mlb.com.....p;c_id=nyy

    Dee,

My favorite part of the Kepner article was the description of the A’s singing on the bus heading into Baltimore.

  96. VTyankee fan

Maybe they are shopping Igawa…stranger things have happened.. IPK just needs work it really doesn’t matter who its against

  97. Brandon (Proud supporter of "Alex being Alex" ) (I slay the Anti)

thanks Clare Maddon’s comments is cracking me up, Shelley had me rolling on the floor

Duncan said that he watched replays of the slide — which the Rays repeatedly termed a “dirty play” — on “SportsCenter” and couldn’t understand why the Tampa Bay players were as upset as they were.

  98. Brandon (Proud supporter of "Alex being Alex" ) (I slay the Anti)

“I will not back down for a minute,” Maddon said. “I know we are right in this regard, so it’s up to [the Yankees] to spin it the way they would like to spin it. That is entirely up to them.

“But I know what happened. Everybody who saw it knows what happened. It’s indisputable what happened. So bring on the spin doctors.”

LOL I thought we were only going to talk about politics or coffee flavor

  99. Dee

Clare, that part is really special.

I’ve always liked Shelley but now after yesterday and this article I’m gonna start rooting for him. Guy’s got a big heart.

  100. Andrea - anti-anti

whozat: thanks. I hadn’t seen him, I was curious.

and it’s Yankee Stadium. You just have to look at the outside of the stadium, and it says that.

  101. Clare

Kepner posted some Shelley quotes on McGwire that wouldn’t fit in the article on his blog:

    http://bats.blogs.nytimes.com/

I really admire loyalty, and Shelley has definitely proved he’s exceptionally loyal.

  102. MikeEff - Shelley at First

clare, i think that quote was from Girardi, not giambi.

it was a great article in the times, my favorite part was:

“Dave Duncan grew so frustrated that he urged Shelley’s agent to push for a trade. But Shelley never wanted to leave. To his father’s surprise, Duncan had a fierce new loyalty. He wanted only to be a Yankee.

“Shelley was always adamant about making it with the Yankees,” Dave Duncan said. “He loves the New York Yankees. He takes a lot of pride in being there.”

  103. Brandon (Proud supporter of "Alex being Alex" ) (I slay the Anti)

  104. MikeEff - Shelley at First

Brandon : you’re so right…that hypocrite maddon has made himself into a laughing stock.

as of today, i hate that team more than the sox…i’m sure that will change…but for the time being…

    ( at least francona isn’t a jerk)

  105. Brandon (Proud supporter of "Alex being Alex" ) (I slay the Anti)

seriously I’m saving his quotes for rainy days when I’m bored at work and need a laugh

  106. Clare

You’re right MikeEff, sorry about that.

BackBench, I’m watching the game on Tivo now, and Cone must have mentioned Molina being Mussina’s personal catcher about 5 times.

Interesting on a couple of points – first, Cone was pretty clear he preferred Girardi as his catcher. Also, haven’t they tried to make the back-up Mussina’s personal catcher before? I don’t remember the specifics though (Nieves, Fasano?).

  107. Dee

Pete – have you seen this? Note sure if Girardi said this before or after his talk with Shelley:

“Shelley told me he was trying to break up the play, [that] he was trying to go after his glove,” Girardi said. “I take Shelley for his word.
“There’s always those guys that you’ll love them if they’re on your team. You don’t necessarily like them if they’re on the other team. You’re always going to play against guys like that. I don’t know if Shelley is like that, but I’ve got to tell you, we love him on our team.”

MikeEff – agree about Francona. I’ve tried to hate him but couldn’t.

  108. MikeEff - Shelley at First

clare, i don’t remember if moose requested fasano in 06…he might have, but yeah last year he was all about nieves…

  109. MikeEff - Shelley at First

Dee: that’s the quote Clare and i were talking about. i believe he said it this afternoon after their little chat.

and yeah, francona might be in the enemy camp, but he’s old school in a good way. and to my knowledge has never had a bad word to say publicly about the yanks.

  110. Boston Dave

bye Mike Missineli Yankee hater & bye SAS

I’m so happy I might just cry :(

  113. Dee

MikeEff, thanks, the more I hear and see Girardi the more I’m excited about this season.

Obviously I wasn’t there but I don’t get the sense that Shelley got reprimanded. I can see Girardi saying to him “look I know why you did it and the team and I appreciate your intention, but you shouldn’t have been so obvious and gotten caught. Now let’s calm this thing down, the umps are watching you…”

  114. MikeEff - Shelley at First

GREAT NEWS BRANDON… that guy was a total jackass.

Boston dave…yeah, exactly but you forgot the worst of all-Varitek. though my personal “most hated red sock” is youk (BARF)

Dee: i’m loving Girardi…i was literally praying that they would hire him over donnie during the off-season. i loved joe t, but the team needed to get shaken up with some fresh energy and vitality. i hope joe t can get the dodgers to the WS and we beat them in 7 games…
great way to close out the stadium…

  115. Clare

I’m still watching the game & I’m loving Coney. He was just talking about how he’d heckle opposing pitchers and pounce on any weaknesses. :) He’s going to be fun this year.

  116. MikeEff ( Shelley, Everyday )

yeah, i loved hearing him talk about those days…

  117. MikeEff ( Shelley, Everyday )

Clare: Pedroia might make a nice pet…

  118. Clare

    MikeEff,

Only for people who like ugly little yappy dogs.

  119. MikeEff ( Shelley, Everyday )

    HA!!

  120. Brandon (Proud supporter of "Alex being Alex" ) (I slay the Anti)

Mike I was hearing bantering today about people who like you or hate you and how some fans you can tell who hates you because when they are face to face w/ you they talk to there friends and tell you nothing. I was like what the hell is he talking about then my friend sent me the link a few hours ago and I read Stephen A. Smith’s show to be canceled now take Sissineli w/ you …THERE IS A GOD !!

  121. Andrea - anti-anti

Boston Dave: you forgot Schilling. Dude’s a jerk.

  122. Dee

Mike, I loved Joe T too and was furious about what happened at the time, but then felt relieved when he didn’t take the offer, if it makes sense. With Donnie I was flat out scared they would give him the job. I laugh now (out of excitement not sarcasm) every time I see Joe G takes out his notepad during the game. I imagine he has some sort of crazy spreadsheet on his computer with every stat on all his players including who slides better when there’s a full moon.

    Night all.

  123. Clare

Okay guys, I’m turning this game off while the Yankees are still ahead and going to bed.

    Good night.

  124. MikeEff ( Shelley: Everyday )

    that’s pretty funny Brandon…

here is one of the comments underneath the article you posted…

“As a Mets fan, I am not afraid to say I like Max. He’s into sabermetrics, wears his fandom on his sleeve, and is nothing like other radio hosts”

–yeah, he’s more idiotic than even maddog—

  125. MikeEff ( Shelley: Everyday )

    OMG — ANDREA

    HOW did we forget HIM?

the worst of any of them… :)

  126. Rebecca--Optimist Prime--Mission 2708

    College basketball is fun.

    For the record.

  127. MikeEff ( Shelley: Everyday )

    hey Rebecca–good to see you

  128. Brandon (Proud supporter of "Alex being Alex" ) (I slay the Anti)

Mike so true I just don’t want to hear any crap about racism when they relieve him of his radio duties, it was him plus that moron Mike Missenelli the final straw forme was the other day when he commented about knowing more about baseball than Joe Girardi does because he played Division 1 baseball, he held it like a merit badge, atleast Tony Paige isn’t so dense when he does the overnight, he knows a bit of what he’s talking about unlike Missanelli and Smith.

I’m wondering who they put in that 2 – 4 slot now, why not John Rothstein and Bill Daughtry or someone else.

It’s Shelley Duncan’s world, we just live in it.

And Joba’s, and Hughes’, and IPK’s… I can’t remember ever being this excited about a team during spring training.

  131. Andrea - anti-anti

Schilling is pretty much the worst of anyone in Boston. He may be tied with Beckett, but Schilling’s been around longer, so that kind of makes him worse.

  132. yanksrule57

I have to say I’m disappointed. I was hoping to see Joba
Saturday in Tampa. Oh, well IPK is up after Igawa and that will be nice.
