Hit a homer for the Children’s Health Fund

Johnny Damon is the captain of the Yankees Home Run Club for the Childen’s Health Fund. Don Mattingly started the club back in 1988. Basically, kind-hearted folks pledge a certain amount of money for each home run the Yankees hit this season. Or you can make a one-time gift.
Damon himself will donate money for every home run he hits.
For more information, follow this link. By joining, you can become eligible to win tickets to a game.
I’m certainly not going to tell you what charity to donate to. That’s your business. But if you have the means to contribute, giving money to help sick kids is certainly a worthwhile cause.
Johnny is a good dude who does a lot for CHF and the Wounded Warrior Project. The least we can do is pass along the information. You can donate on-line or over the telephone.

What is with the Lupica ad? UGH!! :barf:
I heard a tease on 104.3 that Joe Giradi might not be at opening day stemming from Wednesday. I missed the begining part of what was said. Has anyone read anything about this. It would be total bs. The pitcher grazed the batter. ANd Duncan should be the one responsible for his actions!! They didn’t even toss Joe from the game!
And can someone tell Madden to shut up!! Why is he still babbling about Wednesday? He started it! I thought he liked good hard baseball. Ask the players of the 50′s if they thought it was a dirty play. I’d bet they would say no. But don’t ask Zim, he’ll come down on the side of the rays and he has turned into a Yankee hater. So he will not be objective.
Damon’s gonna hit 30 homeruns this seasons!

It’s not actual news based on anything new. The pitcher got ejected, and thus MLB _could_ decide to suspend Girardi. If they do, he’d be suspended on his first day as Yankee manager. No one’s decided anything yet, it seems to me that it’d be unreasonable, but MLB _could_ decide to do it. So…when you’re trying to fill airtime, you report speculation as news, and then it turns into fact, and then I want to shoot Mike and the Mad Dog in the face.
Sorry…just listened to their interview with Sweeney Murti, and it was just egregiously ignorant…I couldn’t get more than halfway through. When they started talking about how they were going rip Girardi when he came on their show (this was taped before they came down to Tampa), I just had to shut it off. Why? Because when they actually GOT Girardi on their show, they DIDN’T ASK HIM ANYTHING INTERESTING and then started in with all their idiocy and conspiracy theories after they hung up with him.

They didn’t even throw him out of the game!! How could they suspend him?
And Joe Madden is trying to continue this by talking and talking! He should just shut up already. If he would have stated from the begining that maybe he could have slid around, and that he hopes the kid is okay it probably would have been over with. I wonder if something will happen Saturday. Watch Kei hits someone accidently in the shoulder (like he did to his translator) and they claim it is intentional.
I don’t know why I am wasting any energy on that garbage team in Fla.
I read in the St Pete paper this morning that MLB is supposed to announce punishments for the Yanks/Rays incidents today. So stay tuned, I’m sure Pete will have it here as soon as he knows.
Girardi might be suspended for the opener? Ugh!
Of course the St Pete paper is calling for Joe G’s head. I do have to say that Shelley needs to shut his mouth already about playing hard etc. THe dude has been in the majors a few months. I’m sure some old time players are cringing since it was seen not heard in their time. He more he speaks the more the situation has the potential to escalte. And the same goes for Joe Maddman.
but did you read the NYT article: http://www.nytimes.com/2008/03.....nkees.html
best…article…ever!
The NYT article confirms a lot about what I thought Shelley was like. I hope that this can get put behind him and doesn’t get blown out of proportion and follow him around.
If they want to suspend him for a game or two ok, but that should be the end of it.
I think the whole thing is getting blown out of proportion – we all just need to move on (starting with the next game at the Rays – per Pete, Shelley will be there)
