The interesting thing would be if the Yankees collapse and have a run like they did from 1965 to 1974. What would happen to these ticket prices? A similar decline hasn't lowered Knicks ticket prices and sales are down on slightly.

"box seat cost at Yankee Stadium in 1967 cost $3.50.

Heck, I couldn't afford the $3.50 way back then.
The bleachers at .75. were more my style, anyway.

ray
we werent talking about your team...
we were talking about your ballpark...the one that smells of urine in the main concorse. i hear they're doing better with the rats than in the past.
when i went with my friend they told me not to drink too much b/c every trip to the mens room takes 20 minutes. how quaint.

Big Apple Salute
You are right about us Boston fans being so envious of the Yankees. We would give anything to have finished second place in the AL east last year instead of sweeping the World Series. And yes I know all about the 26 World championships, but how many of the current Yankees were involved in any of those championships? Just off the top of my head I am guessing only 3 or 4....probably Jeter, Posada, Pettite, and Rivera.

There is nothing like watching a game in the House that Ruth Built. That's the reason my wife & I travel 350 miles roundtrip from Massachusetts for every Saturday game.

I wasn't pleased when the Yanks hit us with a 30% price increse this year for our Section 2 Tier Reserved seats. But at $27 they are still a good value for the enjoyment we get. We'll just pack a lunch more often rather than buy concession food.

I have my fingers crossed that the Yankees won't price working families out of the new ballpark. We'll find out sometime during the season what our options are for the new Stadium. Until then, I'm going to focus my energy on rooting for what is,and always will be, America's Team.

All Boston fans should be charged double price at concession areas at the Stadium. It's called an "envy" tax added on.

if you're always been kinda planning to go see wrigley field, you might need to make those plans for this summer. there is talk of a removation after this season.
