Did he spend the night with Beckett? Hopefully 1 week is enough time off for him. It would stink for him to spend another year starting off on the DL. Maybe he worked himself too hard since he came to camp late and he wanted to make up for it. Hopefully he is really to go.

"Why should we care about Bucholz’s bad ST when folks are admonished here when they speak of Phil Hughes’ poor performance of late?"

Clay Buchholz was shut down the last two year he's pitched with a sore shoulder.

Why should we care about Bucholz's bad ST when folks are admonished here when they speak of Phil Hughes' poor performance of late?

Sometimes I think this blog's theme song should be "Home On the Range" because nary is heard a discouraging word and the skies are not cloudy all day.

Yes, some folks here do over-react and it IS only Spring Training. But when your #2 starter is feeling back discomfort and is scratched 10 days before his first regular season start, it is cause for concern. Not panic, but concern is warranted.

Hmm, while browsing through mlb.com's spring training stats, go fig, Rasner's given up 2 more walks but 6 less hits than Peavy has in the same amount of innings (12.1) (8 earned runs to Peavy's 12 earned runs for that matter)
Hurray for quirks of spring training

Danny Bitzer,

It's sad that there are some empty seats at Legend's Field almost every game. The scalpers get their hands on tickets that everyday fans would love to buy in advance. Scalpers were asking as much as $170 for tickets to last nights game and $300 for our $27 seats for last week's Red Sox game.

Meh, even Bedard has been roughed up in 3 outings so far (7 HRs; 19 earned runs for a ERA of 9.5 this spring)

It follows that he'll deliver another Cy Young caliber season, of course.
