I watched a game once there when the roof was closed and I thought I was outside!

"cold of Toronto "

isn't toronto domed?

The stadium, not the city. Though the latter would be neat.

That's my thinking Pete (their lack of candor on the injury front) in why they may DL him.

I don't think he has an injury. If his back was injured, they would have sent him for an MRI.

I'm just thinking that if he can't throw this week, it may be prudent to DL him, leave him in Tampa to get well (helluva lot better to loosen up in the heat and humidity in FL than in the cold of Toronto and NY in April) and go from there.

I just have a feeling his back, while not "injured" is not going to be ready to crank up for the season.

Hopefully, I'm wrong and he will be ready to go.

SJ:

It's not an injury, just stiffness. He injured his back last season and started the season. He may get bumped back a slot or two but I think he'll start the season with them. 15 days is way too much for something like this.

But the Yankees are conservative and usually fib about meedical stuff, so we'll see.

Andy's had back spasms a few times before as I recall. If that's all it is this time, he might have a set back for start or two.

As long as it isn't something like Randy Johnson's back problems, I'm assuming he'll be fine once it clears up.

Maybe Iggy-san will get the call (w/o shades) in the meantime and he'll strike out 17. :)

Yeah. And maybe Pavano will too.

My $.02 prediction. He starts the year on the DL.

The Yankees are notoriously conservative with their pitchers.

If the option is a Non-100% Pettitte for a cold weather start in Toronto or DL'ing him, it wouldn't shock me if they DL him.
