Yeah, that Gammons prediction doesn’t make a whole lot of sense.

If Joba wins ROY and Hughes is in the Cy Young race, the Yanks are going to win the AL East by a half dozen games or more unless the rest of the team collapses.

I’m not a Gammons basher like most on this blog because I believe he’s still one of the top baseball writers in the country.

I have a feeling that if someone asked Pettite who his best friend was or has been for the past few years, he would reply with either “my wife”, or “God”. Definitely not “Roger Clemens”.

Joba is rookie of the year – Hughes in the Cy young conversation – yet the yanks don’t make the playoffs – makes no sense.

Gammons just posted his pre-season predictions. Yankees aren’t in the playoffs in his predictions, but he threw us a bone and gave Joba rookie of the year, mentioned Phil in the Cy Young group and gave Arod 3rd place in MVP (Manny was 1st–shock).

However, the thing that made want to vomit;

“Manny Delcarmen, Red Sox. He could be one of the best relievers in the game.”

He just can’t stop himself. He really can’t.

i don’t really think the “most likely” lineup will have Giambi batting 8th….. last year he was injury plagued and extremely streaky and was still plugged into the 5 hole whenever he was available. i have no doubt in my mind that he’ll be there again this season, at least to start. no chance Giambi bats 8th.

I know I’m late on this, but cory’s not totally right. The thought makes sense, but In reality, the study of linguistics and the practice of proper grammar are 2 separate entities.

rebecca as I am running out the door to go to the gym yes the NBA made them change their policy BUT there is a whole history behind this. Mark Cuban really messed this up. Will report more when I return OR you can go to Neil Best’scolum he has a story about it up there today or actually go to the Dallas Morning News as they are the ones that have really been affected by it as their beat writer-blog guy was banned from the locker room
