Balkpark giveaway trivia contest

040508_19051.jpgAs a reward for your blog loyalty, I’m going to give away all of the stuff I get when the Yankees have a giveaway day.

Today’s prize is the “The Final Season 2008 Stadium Calendar” sponsored by Subway. This fine item was given away today.

The 15-month calendar includes historic photos of Yankee Stadium and has the 2008 season schedule, complete with game times. Unless you were at the Stadium today, you can’t get one of these. As a bonus, I’ll even throw in the schedule magnet they gave away the other day.

I’ll mail these fabulous prizes off to the first person who guesses the correct answer to this trivia question:

Who wore No. 21 before Paul O’Neill?

The first person to e-mail me wins. Please do not enter if you’ve won something before. E-mails only, no answers may be submitted as comments.

WE HAVE A WINNER! No more entries. Congrats to Stephen, who knew that Scott Sanderson wore 21 before Paul O’Neill.

i got really sunburned today sitting in the tier behind home plate, what i thought might be a gloomy rainy day turned out to be sunny. my brother’s face and head look like a fat hairy tomato.

    Pete,

Funny, putting up a trick question. No one’s worn #21 before Paulie. They didn’t want to be booed wearing a number that would become O’neill’s.

“Take me out to the Balkpark” lol.

  6. Rebecca--Optimist Prime--Mission 2708

    That was quick.

  7. TrebleAhead

Unless you were at the Stadium today, you can’t get one of these.

Unless you’re going to be at the Stadium tomorrow, as they’re giving the calendar away all weekend.

Maybe this was posted in recent threads, but I’ve been away all day so I don’t know. Sorry if it’s old info.

Tampon Bay’s Eliot Johnson offered to play catcher in an emergency w/Navarro’s hand all cut up.

    This could get interesting.

Shelley? Any thoughts if you’re rounding third? (remember … don’t voice them in advance to the press!)

  9. Fran

Shelly is starting his suspension tomorrow so he will not be running into anyone!

  10. x23

damn, I’m a little too late. I just found the player!!

    ANSKY,

Shelley will be serving his suspension. I suspect, though, that everyone’s learned their lesson.

If Giambi can’t go the next 2 days, it’ll be an expensive lesson as he and Shelley are 2 of the 25 players on our team that can play 1B. Hopefully someone can step up. Mo? Moose? I hear they’re excellent fielders. :)

Deion Sanders wore #21 before Sanderson. Anyone remember his cup of coffee with the Yankees?
