Jennifer- thanks for the compliment.

There were posts on this board saying he couldn't make it home without St. Derek arranging for him to take a private jet. That is rediculous, you just connect through Chicago, Detroit or Minn. It isn't like trying to reach the Sahara or anything. Also, it won't cost 400,000 dollars. It cost about 900 bucks to take one of the three flights per day from LGA which take a TOTAL of 4 hours including connecting flight to get to Lincoln, NE. Again...nice of Derek to do, leave it at that. And no St. Derek's day please.

Nice move by Jeter - did he beat the Yankees to the offer, or were they not going to go there? Or was Levine too busy doing a PR shoot elsewhere?

I like this Gonzalas kid - he's had some real nice at-bats, in addition to good defense. I also would like to see Duncan get back up here soon - he too puts together some great at-bats. Then I'd like to see Betemit go bye-bye.

But then you'd have Duncan, Ensberg and Gonzalas on bench - and they're all right-handed, so I'm not sure that'll happen, and since it seems Cashman coveted Betemit, I imagine he'll be reluctant to dump him now.

If they really want Duncan on the team, and I hope they do, it seems like Ensberg would have to go, despite being a better player than Betemit.

F.Y.I. - Jeter, ARod and other notable celebs don't really own private jets. They are clients of Marquis Jets and NetJets, 2 private jet companies that will send you wherever you need to go. At an average of $65K for a 2 hour ride (more for longer trips), I must say its nice to be rich.

Jete's a class act.

Joe, it probably would have cost Joba 400 grand for him to arrange his own plane. Unless you got one sitting around you would have loaned him?

That was cool of Jeter to do. He was double cool yesterday. He does that for Joba and also comes back from injury to reach base 3 times and drive in 2 runs.
